    Classic swing - slider recommendations

I know this has probably been asked 1,000 times already, but...

I'm looking for some good sliders for classic swing and All-Star/Legend difficulty. Anything that will cut down on my 20 homers a game would be great. This would be for the Xbox 360.

It's tough to dig through 20 pages of sliders and try them all out. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

That part's easy: power to 0 and don't push up on the stick when you swing.

Heelfans are great. And the other 2 posters are right, I don't press up on the left stick unless I guess right or they throw a meat pitch. Try it out.

I use heelfan's sliders, and stopped pressing up. I've cut my HRs from 6-8 a game to 1-2. Much nicer stats.

Thanks for the replies. The problem is sometimes they pitch Howard away and even not pushing up he crushes the ball to opposite field over the fence. It's gonna be tough to adjust to not pushing up at all.

I have the same problem. So I've been editing ratings down, so that I can still use the swing stick the way it was designed to be used.

I only gave the Swing Stick a try for a game or two and I had problems with pushing the stick in while swinging which causes me to bunt. That was probably the worst design they could have come up with. Why not just keep "Y" as bunt?

Anyway, thanks for the sliders bjowers, I'll give them a shot.

haven't had time to play for a while but those sound a bit like my hitting sliders using classic swing, 0 contact 0 power and 100 batter influence, seemed to be working fine for me anyways, then again i usually suck at video games

Re: Classic swing - slider recommendations

I decided to try out Heelfan's sliders as recommended above. They were exactly what I was looking for. I played a few games and made some minor tweaks to the sliders and started a season.

                      First game:
Was up 3-2 in the 9th when Gordon blew the save. Ended up losing 6-3.

                      Second game:
Closed out a 2-1 game in the 9th with Gordon.

I just hope that there will be blowouts every once in a while, but I guess it depends on the matchups. I also have been playing with the CPU and human fatigue sliders to find the right combinations.

                      Heelfan's All-Star Classic Sliders
Changed Human Pitcher Fatigue from 25 to 35. 25 was way too low and a user could pitch a complete game anytime.
Changed Pitch speed from 65 - 70. This all depends on the users liking.
Changed AI Fatigue from 65 to 75. CPU pitchers weren't fatiguing fast enough.

Re: Classic swing - slider recommendations

Im having trouble figuring out if my pitching numbers are too good. Im the Dodgers and we are ranked 6th in pitching according to the ratings of the players but my ERA is 3.71 I believe and thats 2nd in the majors. My starters have been mowing down the CPU, Im thinking of knocking the AI Skill up a notch to see if that makes a difference, Im just afraid that it will also lead to less strikeouts which is a side effect I dont want. To give you an idea of what Im talking about, here are the stats for my starters, 40 games into my season....

                        Jason Schmidt (2-4) 2.73 ERA 1.14 WHIP .258 BAA
                        Derek Lowe (2-3) 3.75 ERA 1.07 WHIP .247 BAA
                        Brad Penny (2-2) 2.73 ERA 1.06 WHIP .264 BAA
                        Randy Wolf (2-3) 4.26 ERA 1.29 WHIP .279 BAA
                        Chad Billingsley (5-1) 2.98 ERA 1.26 WHIP .288 BAA

As you can see Wolf isnt dominating at all, but the rest are. I have tried zone pitching and just cant get into it at all, strikeouts are already low considering as a team I am last in the majors at striking out the CPU, and the BAA #'s arent unralistically low but the CPU cant seem to get players around to score at all. You will probably notice that my pitchers arent getting much run support either, thats the main reason why Im 19-21 with LA, but I am 7-3 over my last 10, but it seems like when I lose Im losing 4-2, 3-1 type games because my offense isnt the most potent offense in the world. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Judging by your starting pitchers records, you are either having a hard time producing runs or your bullpen is blowing a lot of quality starts. I've only played two series but I see the same trends with the CPU scoring runs. My starters have been pitching very well, not necessarily mowing the CPU down but producing a lot of ground balls. I'm going to mess with the AI contact a bit and see if that helps produce more hits, but less strikeouts as you mentioned.

I was having a real tough time producing runs, the Dodgers arent known for their power, more their average and I strikeout so frequently that I wasnt scoring at all. Since I made a key trade with Minnesota, my offense is getting a little better and I may have fixed the whole CPU offense thing, I just need to get my strikeouts up a little and I will be finished finally. My biggest problem previously was if I ever tried to build my pitching staff up, they would end up being so dominant that it wouldnt be fair, so I messed with the AI Pitcher Difficulty slider and ended up losing my first game 8-6 to the Angels, didnt feel cheap though, just felt tough.

along with power swing, and power to 0 i put batter influence to 100, and i go to my staff settings, take away all attributes to power. i get realistic numbers.
