Anyone else getting an obscene amount of "Dirty Disc Errors"?

I don't have time to play more than a couple times a week. The last three times I have played I got Dirty Disc Errors. I only have the problem with 2K Sports seems (or so it seems) but I got screwed out of a 9-0 CG Shutout tonight. (PS- What happened to the in-game saves they said we would have?). I do'nt know what to do, or if there's anything to do. I bought this game on launch day and have only played 20 or so games (if that) and about a third of them have locked up. I feel like I wasted $60.

I got a lot of dirty disc errors right before my 360 crashed...and this was using MLB 2k7

Search is my friend, but it didn't provide much insight. There doesn't seem to be a solution just everyone complaining about it. Now that I know there are in game saves I will check that out. I am not sure how it works but if it's possible I guess I will just save my game every 3 innings. That way I won't lose much ground if this happens again. Kind of lame that it comes to that but I don't know what to do.

I bought the game at Best Buy over a month ago so I doubt they will take it back. It looks perfect so it's not dirty. Someone in the other thread said that if you open the tray before you play sometimes it works, but it has happened to me when putting the disc right in an playing.

I don't know why it would be my XBOX since it's only with these two games (both 2K) but whatever. Thanks anyway all.

Have u tried turning on ur xbox with the eject button. This seemed to help me as 2k sports games were the only ones that froze and gave me DDE. Instead of hitting the power button or the button in the middle of the controller, hit the eject button so that the tray comes out wait 2 or 3 secs than hit the eject button again and it should lead to less DDE. Remember this is what solved my problem, i cant promise u it will fix urs but hey its worth a shot. If not then send ur XBOX back or trade it in in april for a new ELITE that is coming out. As flanders onces said "Godspeed little doodle."

            Peace.

I bought the game on release day. After 20-30 games I've only had one DDE and I think that was because I had left the disc in the system while it was off and the game was played after i powered on the system with the game already in the drive.

I could tell it was going to do it because like previous 2k games, Miller and Morgan audio was gone and the player picture wasn't loading on the next at bat. I was able to save the game and just played it out till i got the DDE.

I ejected the game, powered the system off and back on again. I loaded the save game and finished it out with no problems. Haven't had it happen since.

I used to until i plugged my 360 directly into the wall and realized that the cord going into my power supply was only half in so i shoved it back in and havnt had a freeze in ANY game since. Knock on wood.

its happened to me a couple times, but here's another issue, not sure if its the game or my 360. during franchise, i'd be playing a game. lets say i make a catch in the OF, suddenly the game stops loading. i can run around, but cant throw or anything. it doesnt cut to the next scene. on the 360 the noise of the fan gets lower. so i have no choice but to turn it off and restart. i really hope my 360 isnt about to give me the 3 red lights since ive barely bought it 6 months ago
