    Computer pitcher management

Has anyone noticed the computer managers' complete and utter lack of confidence in their pitchers? Even in close games? I've found that in two out of three games in which I score one run or more in the first four innings, the opposing manager pulls the pitcher by the fifth inning, regardless of pitchcount or energy rating. I've only played exhibition games against the computer, thus far, so maybe it's different in a franchise or GM mode?

See, I was noticing just the opposite, that the CPU was leaving a pitcher in for 7 innings even after he gave up 5 runs . . .

I think it depends also if the pitcher will be up to bat in the next inning or so.

But, I've seen it occur and not occur as well. It seems random. I think it most occurs when a pitcher has to come up to bat soon, if your facing a NL team.

I can say that I've been playing mostly AL games, so the pitcher batting element isn't there (though I can say that the games I've played in NL parks have featured rather realistic or believable swapping and subbing).

I've yet to have an opposing manager leave his pitcher in for what could be though of as being too long.
