    Re: New things!

Playing late into an intense game, very close in late innings with runners on base and two outs. Pedro strikes out the batter and the replay of the strikeout was intense! It first cut to a close up on Pedro's face (very sweaty after pitching all game) then followed the ball into the catcher's mit. The screen blurred and the background was all dark and the audio died down. It was pretty intense.

Any of you seen this replay? What did you think?

      Re: New things!

I had Matt Albers (5th starter) batting for the Stros with two outs and Ausmus on third and he takes what appears to be ball 4 with a 3-2 count. But wait he gets rung up after tossing his bat like he just knew he was walked. Then he walks back and starts arguing the call. I wanted Garner to come out but that is up to the cpu unfortunately because I would have had both of them tossed. i would have sent that meter sky high. I was so pissed because I really thought it was a ball. Lots of fun. Best thing I have seen yet.

the one where the throw by pitcher and catch by catcher has 'enhanced' sound effects..if so, yeah that's really great.

I was reading this thread thinking that I hadn't seen much of these happen during my franchise.....then I go play a game with my cubs against the dbacks and orlando hudson tried to steal home and later I hit a liner of of the pitchers head and he dropped straight to the ground (concussion). The little things make baseball great.

Uhhh.. Jon Miller somehow manages to call Russ Ortiz (SF Giants Pitcher) Big Papi when he's at the plate.

But other then that, yeah, I don't hear too much. Although it's fine.

I disagree, I think the commentary is outstanding!!! Great information that changes as my Franchise season goes on. Still hearing new commentary every game and I'm well into my season.

Playing as the O's. I hit a foul ball into the stands and a fan caught the ball. Jon Miller starts talking about the O's old announcer who used to say "Give that fan a contract." Though injuries are not as common as I would like them to be, I was playing against the Oakland A's and their center fielder made a diving catch, injured his right knee and dropped the ball. He was unable to get up and was attended to by the trainer. Two games ago, I hit the foul pole with Tejada for a homerun and the announcers started talking about why it is a homerun and not a foul. Played a game last night against Boston and blew a 3-2 lead in the 9th with one out after bringing in my closer Ray. Ray came onto the mound tense and the ball was all over the place as he was stressing out with a man on first and second. Ended up giving up a walk, beaned one player to tie the score. Brought in the manager to try and calm him down but it didn't help. The score ended up putting Boston ahead 5-3 in the bottom of the 9th with my O's up to bat with two outs and a man on 1st. Hit a homerun to take the game into extra innings where I would eventually lose 6-5 after 10 innings. After the game, the announcers talked about what they said at the beginning of the game on how it would be the bullpen deciding the outcome of the game and how the score went back and forth before the O's finally caved in. Thought it was a nice touch as the more I play this game, the more I love it!!!!

Bottom of the 8th and Damon hits a HR to take a one run lead and then comes out for a curtain call...

I hit a pop up into shallow right-center field. Both the center fielder and the right fielder converge on the ball. The center fielder was slightly closer, tried to slide, but misplayed the ball - missed it by like a foot. The ball rolls slowly into center field while both fielders are chasing the ball. I had sort of rounded first base and didn't come to a complete stop, hit the left trigger and took off towards second, then third. Kinda small, but replayed it a bunch of times because it seemed so realistic. Love the animations in the game

I agree with the commentary during yr one of the franchise, but as with all 2k games (ncaa bkball) in yr 2 they refer to stats etc... from 2006 not 07 or 08,09,10 etc... which is a complete waste now. I have started yr 2 in my chise and it is getting annoying to listen to them talk about stuff from 2 yrs ago.

First time I saw this so if its old oh well.

Yesterday online there was a pitch in the bottom of the ninth during one of those clutch at bats. The whole Stadium got dark and it spotlighted my batter and went into slow mo during the replay. Was completely friggin awesome , Sound effects and the closeup of his face trying to hit the ball. He struck out but I had never seen that before, thought it was great.

Really?? I didn't know that and that does sound like an issue that hopefully they will fix for next year's release.

In my franchise with Boston, Ortiz was trying to score a tying run late in the game - he runs over the catcher and the ball flies in the air off to the side, the pitcher catches the dislodged ball on the fly and in one motion dove and tagged Oritz who was scrambling to his feet to get back to touch homeplate after the collision.
                              It was awesome
