I need advice on fielding groundball for OF

I can't tell you how many groundballs go past my outfielders to the wall for xtra basehits.

They always seem to occur during crucial times in a game that cost me the game. Why they don't get charged as errors, because they really are I don't know.

Anyway, the real fast grounders work just fine. Its the slow ones that I seem to commit my L stick too soon thus the ball goes by my OF'er.

Should I use R1 and L stick pointed down to charge the ball? instead of L stick left or right ?

Camera angle is somewhat to blame, because the ball "appears to be closer" than it is. However, alot is my fault as I react too quickly.

Advice? anyone handle the slower grounder to the OF flawlessly.

This appears to be my only true weakness in gameplay.

Well do you have "Keep Fielder in View" on? I turned that off it has seemed to make a world of difference for me.

I've had this happen to me too. I think that if you're moving the L stick to run after a ground single into the outfield if you let go of the stick early enough, it will trigger an animation where the outfielder will pick up the ball. But if you let go of the stick just as the ball is arriving the fielder will just stand there and the ball will roll past him. I would just charge every ball in front of an outfielder just to be safe.
