Well then I dont know what to tell you becuase I have not had any problems at all with any type of swing lag and niether is anyone that I play with.

Im thinking you have a system or HDTV problem. If your playing on an LCD screen they are very prone to lag for gaming.

Exactly, and that's what I was saying before. I was at a Best Buy with a display PS3 (don't know if it was using all its SPUs and other hardware, etc.) and on a Samsung 42" LCD HDTV. I said this numerous times and said that maybe this was the issue, yet nobody would respond to that.

Come to think of it, Payoff Pitching shouldn't lag either, right?

Once the lag is gone (and maybe they make a realistic strike zone), you should never see me have any issues with hitting and determining balls and strikes again. Pitch speed is a non-factor.

If you have a Xbox 360 you may want to change your display settings to 480p instead of High Definition Settings. I started a thread about this a little while ago and it actually seems to play a little bit smoother with the 480p display. I know its not HD and the graphics will take a little bit a hit, but it might solve your problems.

Ooo, ummm... well, first of all, I don't have a 360 or PS3. Sorry if something I said hinted to that. I didn't want to lead you guys to believe that.

Secondly, I've tried playing games on HDTVs in 480p. They take a large hit IMO. I don't know if I could take that kind of sacrifice.

I know it's probably wishful thinking, and I don't know what it takes, but I hope that 2K8 addresses any framerate, jaggies, and lag issues. Again, I don't know what it takes, so I can't say whether it's easy or not. But believe me when I say that every gamer would be much more satisfied if player models were toned down the slightest for these things to come in.

A number of people here were complaining about the lag with button swinging since the day after the game came out. It's old news. And you're correct - there's a noticable lag, even on the 360.

And again, you're correct about pitch speed. Maxing it out in any other game worked fine. Maxing it out in 2K7 doesn't work because it isn't programmed properly. Apparently Kush once again programmed this game to run with sliders set at 50. Remember 2K5? Move the error slider off 50 and nothing but passed balls. Same thing's going on here to a degree with pitch speed.

Re: Reading pitches is starting to really frustrate me!

I agree with Blzr on this. I notice a similar delay. The thing is once you get used to the timing, you kind of forget about it, but it still effects the swing.

I notice it even with the step. When I pull back the R stick, there is a slight delay from when the hitter on the screen strides.

Same when I swing. I feel like I'm right on a fastball with the press of the stick, but the outcome of the play doesn't reflect it. Instead, I'm usually slightly late. On Curves or other offspeed, I feel like I'm going to be early and pull the ball fould and I end up hitting it to the gap.

I've gotten use to it, which helps me on curves, but on fastballs I end up having to guess location becuase I have to start my swing before I really know where the ball is going to go.

This is where I think MVP was right on. The mapping of the button to the action on the screen was spot on. It was almost to the point where it felt as if the bat speed was mapped to the speed at which you pressed the stick (though it really wasn't).

              Just my experience.

So if you don't have a PS3 or Xbox 360, what system are you using to play this game?

And if you are indeed using a Xbox or Playstation 2, i think your argument was a bit misleading to many here. Because its like trying to compare apples and oranges only because i'm pretty sure most of here are playing this game using a "Next Gen" system. So its hard to compare the gameplay issues on two completely different systems.

This whole 480P eases the LAG sounds like bullocks. It has nothing to do with the game, & has everything to do with the display the game is being played-on..

I play-on a 57' CRT & experience NO LAG when playing OFFLINE. ONLINE is a different story though...

I was just about to say this to Blzr. Its not the game its the display you are playing on. I also play on a 51" crt HDTV and I have absolutley ZERO lag. Almost any LCD based display I see has lag on fast moving games. I originally bought an LCD and took it back for that reason. NBA was terrible on it.

I play on a standard TV and there's lag with button swinging. And others here who are playing on HD TV's have complained about the lag. All this was discussed weeks ago.

With normal pitch speeds or the warp speed some of you are playing on ? When your trying to hit a 200 MPH simulated fastball it may feel like lag. lol

j/k , but I have no lag at all. I remember people talking about it before, but I just chalked it up to most people probably having an LCD display. Lag and motion blur are very common on LCD displays.

That could be one reason, no doubt. Another thing: what people here are calling lag, I'd call a very tiny delay between the time you hit the button to swing, and the time it takes for the swing animation to kick in. HH 04 had this very same lag or delay, only it was much more noticable than it is in 2K7. On the other hand, I've expeirenced no lag at all when using the swing stick.

I've never seen any lag on my Samsung DLP.

I've read on various forums of DLP lag, but I haven't seen it. I did have my set professionally calibrated a few months ago so that might have helped. I though my DLP looked good before calibration, but after it.....WOW! Well worth the $375 to get it done.

Almost makes me think the "lag" or delay is there to simulate the leg kick of a batter ? Its not noticable when using the swing stick because you have to manually pull back for the leg kick yourself. But maybe the classic mode sims this with a slight delay. Maybe its just perception. Because to me it feels 100% normal. Next time your playing look and see if the batters leg is moving instantaneously with the button push. It would only make sense that the leg would move before the bat. Maybe some of us just percieve this differently. Some see it as lag and some see it as a normal motion of batting.

I guess when Im playing I see the button push as the start of my batting motion. Not so much the exact milisecond the bat should start moving.
