Two Things That Are Killing Me

As much as I like this game there are issues that were fixed with sliders but now I have 2 problems that I dont know how to solve
    1. Homeruns- I now have a realistic amount of homeruns per game but with the power slider I have it set as I can no longer hit homeruns to dead center, the ball always comes a few feet away from going over but never over. I am stuck with warning track power and only seem to hit homeruns down the line. If I go higher on the power slider too many homeruns are hit.

    2. Doubles- This is what is killing me the most. Last game I played Brewers v. Pirates we went into 12 innings but 21 doubles were hit. I had 18 hits in the game total, 13 of them were doubles! Thats gay! This is how it has been lately, way way way too many doubles per game.

    Any help???

Doubles are manly. Gay would be 13 dribblers for infield hits... Sounds like you need to bump up OF speed and/or lower baserunning speed.

The only two solutions for the HR issue in 2K7 are: DO NOT use the power swing, and/or lower YOUR TEAM'S Players' Power and HR and ratings.

Ok maybe not gay but not right.....not saying people that are gay are not right but....ah, forget it. Ok back to the subject it's not right to have those many doubles in a game. It's not right to have 2 players get 3 doubles each every game either.

It's basically all in the sliders. Or the player ratings.

It's definitely all in the sliders, one set I was trying out had the CPU's OF speed up too high and I didn't hit any doubles in 4-5 games.

I agree with what someone here said before. It seems like the field is too wide (which means the gaps are too wide, which means too many doubles) and not long enough (for good singles to drop) in this game.

I was thinking of upping the OF Speed or maybe even Reaction, but I'm not sure what a good setting is. And I don't want to turn Baserunner Speed down, as I currently have it at 90 and still see too many DPs. Oh and all Arm Speed settings are at 0.

Wow, first time I ever heard that theory. Don't know if there's anything to that. However, I'm going to suggest that the AI Skill slider could be part of the issue here. What it does is act a hit-cheat slider. The higher it is, the more times the CPU willl magically find the gaps in the OF, regardles of where and how you shift your D. I play with that slider as low as possible for that one reason.

                That's it? only two things?

I'm getting tired of 10 strikeout 9 walk games. I'm tired of hitting more HR's per game than singles. I'm tired of the horrible fielding and mechanics. I'm tired of not being able to hit balls right on the black. I'm tired of trying to go opposite field by swinging "perfectly" late (ala MVP) only to strikeout. I guess to go opposite field you must time the ball the same way you would pull an inside pitch and aim left with the L stick. This simply doesn't feel right to me. To go opposite field you should be swinging a fraction of a second late.

                I don't know what's worse:

                Scoring 6 runs on 8 hits with 4 HR's, 10 strikeouts and 9 walks (2K7)

                or...scoring 6 runs on 15 hits, 1 HR, 5 strikeouts and 2 walks with 10 singles. (MLB).

I guess baseball is too hard to simulate.

It's all about player ratings - both games. Lower HR and Power ratings in 2K7 to get rid of the HR's. Lower Contact ratings in MLB to start seeing 4 hit games etc.

I'm tired of not being able to hit HRs to CF, because the Power slider is so low. Bump the Power slider up and the HR #s are through the roof. Keep it low and the #s are real, but the HR types aren't.

well i have outfielder speed at 60(legend default) and i have no problems with too many doubles actually with slower guys like piazza its very hard to hit a doulbe...you actaully have to hope the ball travels for a while otherwise theres no way piazza can legs out a double.

I have the Power slider at 5, Pitch Speed at 55 and Ive hit homeruns to CF, most recently with Nomar against the Brewers but yet Im only ranked 18th in the league in HR's as a team and thats realistic considering the Dodgers arent a power hitting team. Pitch Speed plays a big role in HR's, the lower the # the harder it will be and the higher it is the easier it will be.

Ok so from the feedback so far I got.......adjust the player ratings (which I'm strongly against)
Raise the outfielder speed to 60 (which I will try but now I worry that every outfielder will have Juan Pierre speed, also what about the outfielder reaction slider what should that be then?)
Finally we have lower the pitch speed which will then let me hit homeruns to centerfield (this kinda seems backwards to me, it seems the higher pitch speed should mean deeper homeruns but I will try that also)

Thanks for the feedback fellas.........I'm tring to stick with this game while MLB THE SHOW is calling my name from the other room.
