My No-Hitter ended in the worst way
Scott Kazmir had a no-hitter going the last batter comes up in the bottom of the 9th 2outs. Kazmir had 16K 2BB and on the last pitch he gets injured. His stamina was a 1Tags: None -

Yeah, that definitely sucks. I would be almost as pissed at that as I am now. I am playing as the Reds against the Pirates. Harang has a perfect game through 6 1/3 innings and gives up a hit. Pirates manage one more hit and in the bottom of the 9th inning, Reds leading 1-0 with 1 out, on Harang's 12th strike out....FREEZE!!!
This happened after I saved the game in the 3rd inning earlier...have there been issues with saving mid-games?#WeAreUK -

Rich Hill pitched 6 and 1/3 perfect innings against the Padres for me before he injured his arm . . .Comment

Re: My No-Hitter ended in the worst way
I had it worse. I pitched a no hitter but lost the game*. I was using Ted Lilly vs the Reds, his stamina was about 5, so after 2 outs, he walked the 3rd man up. Then Dunn hit a long fly and Soriano went deep and dove for it but dropped the ball off his glove. The guy at first came around to score and beat me 1-0. The game ruled the last play as an error so I still got the no hitter but lost.
*I know in the 90s Fay Vincent changed the rule that you no longer can get a nohitter in a loss. I thought this was a dumb rule made by a good commish (well compared to Selig). It negeated all the no hitter lost games since the 1904 season. So even though MLB offically no longer recognizes no hitter losses as no hitters, I still do to keep with baseball tradition.Comment

Re: My No-Hitter ended in the worst way
I almost screamed at the TV the other day. I was taking my no hitter into the 8th inning and thought I might actually pull it off. Up comes Jason Kendall, who struck out the other times he was at bat.
On the 4th or so pitch, he took a cut and got on top of the ball and hit it about 2 feet. My catcher sprung up and ran to the ball, but for some reason ran right past it. Then, the pitcher sprints up and tries to bare hand it, but fails miserably and Kendall makes it to first without even a throw. I finished off the game only allowing one hit, but dang that was frustrating.
(As a side note, this happened during a play in my GM mode. Someone hit the ball toward Jorge Cantu, and he gets into position and gets ready to field the ball. It looks like an easy play and there should be no problem, but then the ball rolls through Jorge's legs and into right field. The strange thing about it is that it was called a hit rather than an error. Anyone know why that would be?)Last edited by bdubya; 04-23-2007, 04:12 PM.Comment

Re: My No-Hitter ended in the worst way
So uh, just wanted to say... I just got perfected by Jason Schmidt when I played earlier today.
Jon Miller kept reminding me, and every time my palms got more sweaty.
Only six strikeouts in the doing, and there were a few nice saves by their defense as well, like the last play (diving play in the hole made by Kent to end it... I should have had Frandsen batting and not slow-*** Klesko).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
