    Re-signing players?

I'm sure this has been answered a million times before, but I have issues with some of my players who have expiring contracts. I'd like to sign Rivera and Posada to an extension of a year or two, but they both want a contract for 5 years, for $12-15 million per. Pretty ridiculous, if you ask me. Will their demands get more realistic at the end of the season, or will they refuse to negotiate with me in the offseason if I don't sign them before then?

They wont refuse to resign with you in the offseason but their demands wont get any better either. With any luck they wont get signed early and may lower their expectations but thats your best chance.

I have found that the player demands do change as the season progresses based on their performance.
