So I just picked up 2K7. I was playing UEFA Champions League to hold my sports fix until the fall, and when I saw 2K7 receive less than favorable reviews, I thought I would hold off. Then UEFA CL broke so I tried the demo of 2K7 and realized it wasn't half bad so I went out and bought a copy yesterday.
I must say, I've only played a handful of games so far but I am really enjoying it. I am still getting used to the swing stick, but I did crush a grand slam with Griffey. I am more impressed with the pitching. It took me a few games to get the hang of payoff pitching system, but I really like it now. I like how the catcher actually calls for different pitches and sets a location for you.
I have tried to avoid any impressions threads or bugs/glitches threads about the game because, well, it's like the saying goes: "Ignorance is bliss". I have heard that the computer scores primarily through home runs though I have not found this to be the case yet.
One thing that annoys me is outfielder speed. I find that too often when there is a pop up that my plays are not able to get to it unless is very high or right to them. It's like they're just jogging. I wish there was like a turbo button or something.
Anyway, I'm liking the game and glad I finally caved and got it. I heard 2k sports had a "3-year plan" for this game so I am definitely anticipating big things for next year's game.
