Any possibility of fielding patch?
Has there been any word on whther or not 2k7 will patch the fielding for this version? If not, has anyone heard any indication that they want to fix the fielding views for 2k8?

Re: Any possibility of fielding patch?
Well, after looking at 2k6 and the Bigs I see the fielding view was ver playable...I don't know what happened to 2k7 between the making of those 2 other games.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: Any possibility of fielding patch?
Outfieilding in this game is terrible. I dont know how many times I've had pop ups in the 9th with two outs, only to have my AI guy run into me while I'm trying to catch the ball.
Yes I know you should press X to call off, but you shouldnt have to do that. Not to mention I've given up a run because I pressed X to call it off, and NO ONE caught the ball.Comment

Re: Any possibility of fielding patch?
jkwon,
It's the fielding camera angles actually. If you're good w/ them then you are a very lucky camper.
For others however, not being able to see the ball hit into the air (until the split second before it hits the ground/falls into a glove) impacts you when fielding and batting. It's especially terrible for batting b/c when I hit balls into the air I can never tell when to go for 2 cause I can't see where the ball is going. Other issues? Being stuck behind the first baseman on every throw to 1st. Unable to have depth perception on grounders hit to the outfield. Unable to see a homer go out the park (you just see the little red arrow against the wall.) The list goes on and on.
No other baseball game I can think of has butchered the fielding camera like MLB 2k7. Not any other 2k game even, including 2k6 and the Bigs! If you look at vids for the Bigs, the camera angle is "fixed back" to what it has been in years past. Plus, 2k is the only harball game I can think of in the last 10 years that has a history of NOT giving us a standard variety of camera angles for fielding (zoom, aerial, etc.).
In his MLB 2k7 postmordem interview the developer said that "fielding in 2k7 sucks" so hopefully that means he changes it for next year.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

2. Your second comment makes it sound like you don't even know what 'calling off' is for.I am become death

Re: Any possibility of fielding patch?
I agree that the fielding isn't nearly as bad as the impressions made me think it would be. I don't mind it at all and only have problems when I can't tell if the AI OF is going to catch the ball so I don't start my runners soon enough. But that's a realistic problem for ML players so it's not much of a big deal.Comment

Re: Any possibility of fielding patch?
As a note, 2k did fix the fielding angles greatly for the bigs and hopefully it will be that way for 2k8.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: Any possibility of fielding patch?
Sorry I did not read your post. I now understand what people are talking about. Okay here is what i feel about the situation. Talking about camera angles. I think they are passable in this game its not hard at all to catch the ball because a big *** circle appears (Shadow) in the field at the spot you need to catch the ball at.Comment
