360 Patch Question

i was thinking about purchasing this game...however, i had a question:

i do not have xbox live - is there any way i can get the patch update for this game or not? If I can't then I won't purchase it because I could never get the game to feel right and the slider adjustments were a nightmare.

I don't pay for Live Gold and I got the update just by being connected. You know that if you don't get Live Gold, you still automatically get Silver all the time for free right? Now, if you simply can't connect at all (which is weird because then how do you reach this site) then no, you won't be able to patch the game.

my 360 is not connected to the internet...but, yes, i do have a high speed internet connection. i have no idea it works...all i want to know if the patch is available for non-Live subscribers who do not have their 360 connected to the internet...didn't know if it's connected to a specific roster update or what the patch really is / means...sorry, i'm not the brightest tech bulb on the tree.

Nope it wont work, you have to be connected to get the update.

When connected online, and you start MLB 2K7, XBOX Live checks to see whether your system has the patch on it for the game. If it doesn't it uploads some info to your 360 that gets stored on the hard drive which affects certain parts of the game. A patch is simply rewritten code for certain parts of the game that get applied to existing code while the game is running. In this case they added a camera angle and adjusted some game-play issues.
A roster update is completely different. That's basically just a save file with alterations made to the rosters. For the rosters, you have to be a paying member of XBOX Live. But you can get the the game patch for free.

I'm full timing in my motorhome, My computer is hooked up to Verizon wireless. I don't think my Verizon card will work with my PS3...

I wish I could download the update on to my computer, then copy it on to a disk, then put that disk into my PS3 ( when a PS3 update is available )... I know almost nothing about computers so I'm sure this isn't a possibility?

I would pay for shipping if they would offer a disk update for us guys who can't get online...
