    Slightly Imperfect Presentation

I don't know of a game (yes even NFL 2K5) that has such a seamless style of presentation and game enhancing features as MLB 2K7.

If they could fix some commentary issues and crowd reaction, I think the presentation in this game would be perfect.

Just sitting through this game while playing, and letting it do its thing, without hitting the A button to skip, is pretty impressive.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I agree. I do that often. It makes the games take a lot longer, but I'm not usually in a rush when I pop this game in.

There's not a lot to complain about other than the commentary. I'm tired of hearing Miller go into his "Manny being Manny" thing every single game when Manny goes up to the plate. It's not realistic that Miller and Morgan would do the commentary for every game in the season, anyway, so I turn them off now. Since they do Sunday ESPN games, I sometimes just turn them on for Sunday games, so I don't hear so much repitition.

It's very true. I don't love hearing Joe Morgan telling me about circle changes every time I pause. They aren't bad on the play by play, but they do need to record more audio.

One other thing, in the beginning of the games, Steve Physioc gets alot of things wrong. When he discusses my starter's last game, he usually is very off about it, sometimes saying they had a no decision, when they actually won or lost.

I really couldnt agree more. The presentation is pretty much perfect with those two things you speak of. I really wish they fixed the crowd noise after homeruns or with runners on ext. Also I hope they add WAY!!! more commentary to teams I am Sooooo tired of hearing the same thing "Well David Wright has the Wright Stuff" Funny the first time. And i love those 2 so i dont want to mute them.

Steve is pretty stupid in real life, so I think they got him down perfect!

In real life I HATE Joe Morgan, but they did a really good job on the presentation. Jon and Joe do get repetetive, but I don't like to mute them since that also mutes the pregame show which I think is very good. Nonetheless, great presentation on this game. I have never played a game where the announcing didn't get annoying or repetitive. There are only so many phrases they can put into a game.

I think he just means the opening, where it shows the outside of the ballpark and Steve Physioc talks a little about the team(s) and the starting pitcher's last performance. This is on the 360, btw. I'm not sure if that's in the last gen version or not.

I agree, I think the presentation & commentary in this game is second to none. All I wish is that they'd forget about trying to be 'current' with their scripted stuff. Get rid of 'Sean Casey was traded to the Tigers in 2006 ...' and just say 'Sean Casey hitting .289 steps in ... He's got 12 homeruns on the season'.

Oh, and of course the crowd issue.

IVery good point. And it also seems like they could save a lot of time, and divert it elsewhere if they didn't have to record all of these specific lines for players. Just give me a lot of variations of the 'Sean Casey hitting .289 steps in' example. That way it doesn't get nearly as stale as well. Hearing the same lines over and over and over for your team really breaks immersion. I get a lot of 3-0 counts with Jose Reyes, thus resulting in one of these canned phrases every single time without fail.

Or in a perfect world, we'd get the canned tidbits about the opposition team, but never about your own. Jon and Joe would essentially be your team's broadcast and would just give you statistical and timely info about your players.

                    Oh.. and Undefeated... Go Blue.

Does anybody remember the pc game 10 years ago Tony LaRussa Baseball 3? It gave you the choice of one of 3 announcers, Mel Allen, Lon Simmons, and Hank Greenwald. Maybe 2K8 could have a radio, local TV and National TV announcers. I would rather see lesser known announcers and have variety, than the same guys over and over and over and over.

                        Yup, my point exactly.

Should be 10-0 heading into Madison. We'll see what happens after that.

Yeah, I had that one back in the mid 90's? Changing around the announcers was really cool. Paying for all their services might be expensive, unless they are unknowns or actors like the football game.
