I need help hooking this up online!

Sorry guys if I come off like a n00b.

A couple of months ago I tried hooking my PS2 up online just for the purpose of downloading roster updates and all that good stuff. I realize my computer isn't fast enough to play anyone, and I'm fine with that.

I have dial-up internet and hooked the cable into my PS2 and entered our dial-up info and password and all that.

    Great.

I hit connect, and it tells me I need an adapter.

Is it something I did wrong or do I really need an adaptor, because My configurations are all set up because I downloaded some roster updates for NBA 2k7 at a friends house who has broadband.

Have I done something wrong or do I need an adaptor, if so, what store might I even find an online adaptor for a PS2?

    Thanks in advance.

Does it tell you what kind of adapter? Also, do you have the old fat PS2 or the more recent slim one?

      I have the thin PS2.

I think it was something like an ethernet/modem adaptor or something of the sort.

yah in order to go online with the PS2 you need the internet adapter... it connects to the back of the PS2.

Doesn't the slim PS2 have the adapter built in? I could be wrong though.
