    Aging pitchers picking up velocity

I'm in the second year of my franchise using Chris Nelson's rosters V. 14. I recently faced Freddy Garcia for the Phillies and he came out hitting triple digits with his fastball! He's throwing in the high 80's the last couple years. Then I faced Pedro a couple days later and he was hitting 100. Is this a problem in Nelson's rosters or is this a problem with the player progression? Or maybe they just started on "the clear"?

I use Chris' rosters also, and havent seen anything like this. What is your pitch speed slider set to? I have mine on 75 and most high velocity guys hit about the mid to high 90s.

IMO every pitcher in the game throws too fast. If you don't edit Mike Mussina he can touch 93-94. I believe Julian Tavarez hits 95, Beckett hits 98, etc.

It seems like every inning or two each pitcher can uncork a fastball that's out of his league.

The problem stems from the way 2K implements fatigue in pitch speeds. Example: Ian Snell routinely throws in the low to mid 90's for the Pirates and occasionally touches 97 in real life. In 2K's game, he maxes out in the low 90's early on, then hits mid 90's in the middle of the game and then drops down to the low 90's late. That's a problem IMO as I've often seen Snell stay in the mid 90's throughout an entire game (he hit 97 in the 7th inning his last start).

In this game, there's a direct correlation between fatigue and pitch speed and that shouldn't be the case. Not many MLB pitchers lose 3-5 MPH off their fastball later in the game.
