What I Would Like To See In The Future...
Being a Phillies fan my team has been ravaged by injuries this yr. After playing MLB 2K7 the 1st 2-3 months it was out I noticed the lack of injuries in this game. The real life Phillies have had 19 players land on the DL this season. At least 7 of those 19 were pitchers...2K (MLB 2K8) needs to look at injuries in Major League Baseball, and make them more common in there video games. Or else what is the point in a farm system, and calling up a guy like Kyle Kendrick who was won 7 or 8 games this season. I want to see a lot of players get injured on my team in a video game because I think it makes it more fun and challenging. I hope they do something about this. What do you guys think?Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Tags: None -

There's an injury slider somewhere, I'm pretty sure. -

Re: What I Would Like To See In The Future...
I simply did... I had it at 100 and never saw a pitcher get injured on my team. Go look at other teams in the game. There might be 2 or 3 pitchers...At the most 5...hurt at anytime. That's crap because we all know how often pitchers go down, and at any given time there are 10 or more injured in the league. So why can't the game portray this, or get it right?
I want to see that in the new MLB game...Don't you guys want to have to try and contend, while fighting off the injury bug. Don't you wanna have to call up a AAA'er or AA'er to give you some quality starts. Rather than just doing it to do it? We need to see a more realistic injury engine.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: What I Would Like To See In The Future...
I see pitchers injured all the time and I haven't even touched the injury slider. If you want your pitchers injured, keep pitching them past 20% fatigue and they'll get injured. If you sub them out before that, they likely won't.Comment

Re: What I Would Like To See In The Future...
Maybe the patch fixed something, because I traded my copy in a long time ago. I just remember going through an entire season w/ the Phils and never having a pitcher go down once. Other players were injured, but never a pitcher. Go look in your franchise, and tell me how many pitchers are currently injured.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

I know that when i leave a pitcher in for too log (about 10% stamina) the injuries role in. Or when they get plunked with the ball. When you see it...you'll know what it is...Comment

Re: What I Would Like To See In The Future...
I've had injuries at 100 all season (roughly 40 games now) and I'm seeing injuries at a reasonable rate. Most of the time, though, they're 'day-to-day' injuries, so it's like they never happened.
Just yesterday, though, I lost Kenny Rogers for 2-3 months, and I also currently have a utility guy on the 15-Day DL. And, again, that's only 40 games, so ...I am become death
Do not underestimate my apathy

Yeah, they seem pretty good to me...especially with the slider bumped up. It seems like pitchers get injured about twice as often as other players. Though outfielders go down pretty frequently when they crash into the wall while making a catch.Comment
