Fat A simple ? Does the game turn into a Homer Fest of Stats? Even if you tweak the slider's to make it more sim-like?

Don't know if this question has been asked yet but here goes.

If I have a guy with a real poor contact rating will he hit the ball everytime as long as I time it right? Or will he miss the pitch even if I time it right?

      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I haven't played with that option enough to know much about it, but I do know that if you swing at a ball far enough out of the zone, you'll miss it even if you time it right. I'm pretty sure you won't miss anything in the strike zone, though.

Thanks for answering these questions Fat Pitcher. I was wondering what the differences between the X Box version of WSB 2K3 and the PS2 version are. It looks as though the graphics on the X-Box version are brighter with better textures (IGN videos seem to indicate this). Any other differences? In your opinion, is it worth plunking down $200 for an X-Box to play that version as opposed to the PS2?

If it's not my money, sure If you have a HDTV, yes, particularly if it supports 720p. If there are other Xbox games you really want to get, yes. If WSB is the only one, no. $250 for one game is too much, even if it has a massive controller with a cheap plastic gearshift and a Wash button.

In Rookie mode, yes. Beyond that, it depends on your skill. I think we've added enough difficulty options that even the best players won't be able to hit an unrealistic amount of home runs. It's just a matter of finding the difficulty settings that are right for you. If you're playing the AI, there is a "CPU pitching ability" slider that will lower the amount of HRs you hit when it's bumped up.

They start to change the mound, but we can't show actual fighting. You may have read about NFL players blaming video games for encouraging them to lay vicious cheap shots on opposing players. The MLB is wisely avoiding that problem by not allowing baseball games with the MLB license to show fighting.

Managers don't come out and argue calls.
