but, wow! This game just looks so solid in all facets. Pitchers throw warm up pitches. The hitting system involves some the use of the d-pad.
I'm really intrigued by the hitting system. The cursor is small, but the location of the pitch is displayed when the pitcher releases the ball (kind of inbetween 2K7 where it is not displayed at all or is displayed when the pitcher goes into his windup with a correct hitters eye guess). You still only have a half second to determine if that dot is is in the zone and to get your small, bat-shaped cursor to that spot and to press the swing button.
(notice at about 5:18 in the first video, the swing all of a sudden goes from a level swing to a much more steep, uppercut of a swing. Possibly a seperate power swing button? All of the other swings are much more level.
Also, at the 8:50-ish mark, the hitter pulls a ball foul. It's nice to see his head actually follow the ball properly. At the 6:20 mark, the hitter goes opposite field and still keeps his nose on the ball. Finally at 9:40, the hitter hits a high flyball and actually looks upward....pretty cool.
Also, the strikezone is from the belt to the knee's, which is much more realistic than the "knees to shoulders" one 2K uses.
Also, the pitches really seem to move properly. Curveballs seem to have a real "bend" to them. Sliders seem to break sharply and sinkers/2-seamers seem to have a nice tailing action.
Here is the second half.

At the 2:05 mark, the hitter gets jammed and hits it weakly to second. In 2K7, that could easily be a homerun.
I notice that as the hitter, you can change the camera angle without having to go to a menus.
There's a cool little split screen action at the 8:10-ish mark.
The gameplay and animations just look so fluid and life-like. (Although I do see some rocket arms it does look like friction actually comes into play when the ball hits the ground). There are a ton of foul balls. Without actually playing the game, it's hard to say if it feels right, but it definately looks right froma movement standpoint. The presentation seems like it is done well. I hear a ton of dialouge (though can't understand a word of it). I see a lot of stat overlays, as well as other cut-scenes/split screen's, etc.
The field looks really big, which I like. There is a lot of space between fielders, which seems to offer a lot more hit variety's. I saw balls in the gaps, routine grounders that found holes between infielders.
Also, I see a lot of in-game advertisement around the field. I don't know if these are real or not, but it seems like a good way to get more $$ for development (as long as it is done realistically).
Create a player is something from Fight Night or Tiger Woods and is way beyone what 2K has done with their games:
I believe that MLB 2K7 is on the right track and I think we're going to look at MLB 2K8 like most looked at NBA 2K7, but I also think they can get a lot of ideas from this game as well.
