I just downloaded the patch again for this game. Wow, I love this game. I don't know how The Show can beat this game. When I play it I guess I will understand, but as it is now......this game is the best of the year IMO.

Both games have their strong and weak points, but both are very good. The offerings for this year should be even better for both of them. Hoping for a bit more info from the guys at CES this week. We all win with 2 great games being produced.

the hit variety, announcers, and physics are awesome. It basically just plays a very very realistic game of baseball, especially online.Comment

I agree the HR were too much.. However the show on the PS3 I ALWAYS got traffic delay syndrom and could hardly ever get a full game in. I gave up on it.PSN: ToxicitiComment

I loved the offline play. It's the best baseball game I've played to date. In the same sense the hit varity online was terrible. It wasn't uncommon to have each team hit 5-8 HRs each. It was downright absurd. I still oved the batter pitcher interface. It felt like I was truely pitching out there.PSN: bronk14Comment

Sorry, I know I am in the very few minority here but I could care less for on line play. Fight night 3 on 360 ruined it as far as sport games go. I got my a$$ handed to me a ton by cheaters.

Just wondering---I avoided "swing stick" like the plague. But now I'm starting to warm up to it.
I know the swing stick is the developer's vision for how the game *should* be played. But do you guys use it?Comment

I love the swing stick but I don't really love how it's implemented in this game. I don't like how to do a normal swing you only move the stick back to neutral. To me, you should always move the stick all the way up when swinging, for a full follow through. In 2k7 though this produces a power swing.
The problem here is that the power swing feels more natural than the normal swing, so everybody online uses it a ton. In fact, I would venture to guess that most 2k7 online players use the power swing exclusively. Couple that with the fact that the risk/reward ratio on the power swing is obviously not great enough, and you end up with a homer-fest online.... which is no fun.
I like the way the swing stick is implemented in MVP NCAA much better, it uses a modifier button for power swing, and you always swing the stick all the way up. Makes it much easier to check swing too (although maybe a bit TOO easy). I never played NCAA 07 but this is the way it worked in 06 and I really liked it.
In any case, in 2k7 the risk/reward ratio for the power swing needs to be pushed a little more towards the risk side to get people to stop abusing it. There should be a real chance that you're going to whiff if you use that power swing.Comment

I tried the swing stick for one game and quit that. It just isn't natural to me and I got tired of tinkering with it to make it work for me. I am glad everyone has a choice of which game they like best. I am gonna stick to MLB2K though. Just too much fun to put down. I haven't played this much video game baseball since MVP. Just curious how the hit variety has been after the patch? Exactly what did the patch fix anyways? I bought this but traded it in before the patch. I'd really like to get into this game this year. I've been thinking of getting a PS3 just for the Show, but I'm really not keen on the idea of investing all that money for just one game.Highheat's O's Franchise
