    what's in a name?

A couple of years ago I asked the SCEA people if they would let us fanatic baseball fans who post on Operation Sports, to send in our last names, to be announced...The guys sent in their names in and presto "We are in the game" It has been a real joy!

Now I'm asking you Mr. Ben Brinkman to please consider the same for the 2K series...What could be better than to be able to hear your own name in the game? IMHO, nothing would be better...

Mr. Brinkman instead of choosing names form the phone book please consider letting your most passionate supporters experience the pure joy of hearing their last names announced in your great game...

    wow that was you eh?

I agree 100%, I have a pretty rare name; even for my decent and this would be amazing if they were able to do this for future games.

      DaoudS,
I'm glad you enjoyed it...I figure that if a guy post enough times, you've got to hit pay dirt once in awhile...

SCEA saw the value in this and moved on it, I was just so happy when I read Kolbes post that said for us to send in our names!

This idea is just an idea but if MR. Brinkman understands the joy this would bring to us, with this ever evolving piece of artwork that we call "MLB 2K" series, and offers this, then all I can say is WOW!

This would personalize this game like nothing else...

I was amazed when I first heard my name in Superstar mode in Madden this year. My last name is Haralson and there is a Linebacker by the name of Parys Haralson who is a rookie and was drafted by the niners. It is pretty cool to be able to hear your name in the game after so many years of the game saying number so and so.

          JBH,
I hear ya! You know I truly believe Brinkman enjoys these games as much as we do, and like us he would enjoy his last name "Brinkman" in the game...

Brinkman I sure hope you go for this!

              Re: what's in a name?

Daoud Shuja is hardly a name that any player in any league will ever have...unless the torn ligaments in my ankles, herniated disc in my back, cysts behind both knees in my body can be fixed over night and I get amazing genetics. So getting this would be AMAZING. I have the chills thinking about it.

Like when Parys Haralson retires or his career is over and no longer in a football game will my name forever be in Madden or does it go when he goes?

                            Another idea for Brinkman,

offer 2 lists of last names one list that will be announced, the other that would be on the uniform and in the stats...

The reason for the 2 separate last name lists, is to give us the opportunity to choose a name that sounds closest to the real name...

                            Example:
If you choose to create Duke Snider, and Snider isn't available on the audio list, but Snyder is, then you would pick the announced name Snyder for the sound of it...
Then you would type out "Snider" for the correct spelling, this spilling of Snider would appear on the back of his jersey and on all records and stats etc...

                            Scooter...

You just made me think of something...Why not include all the names that are currently in the big leagues...The more names the better, but if we could send our names in and have them announced, that would be a dream come true...
