    Important QUESTION

In one of the videos for show they have fukudome(japanese player) playing for the cubs. Now if you know 2ksports they say that they cannot have a players real name until he's played one real game for the pro's. How come the show can put his real name in then?

    Re: Important QUESTION

Because Sony has a seperate contract with Japanese agents or some company they are represented by.

        Re: Important QUESTION

I read that they sign contracts with each player individually and that not all are in MLB 08 at this point.

Dont worry though. I am sure they already have his likeness and Sig Style with him for 2K. And once he plays a few games they will patch him in, with his picture, sig style, and face.

They did that with Dice-K and a few others last year!

I dont believe any game can have him until he has played one game and joined the players union.

I don't think they even have to play a game do they, but just have signed w/ the players union.

It's just a video. They probably have him in there because he'll eventually be on the roster. But, he won't be there in the shipped copy. You'll have to wait for an Opening Day roster update.

No, they have to appear in a MLB game to become an official member of the Player's Union thus allowing them to appear in MLBPA products.

Thats right on the money right there Players union has nothing to do with this matter, 2K wont have him right away but the show will for this very reason, trust me I had both games last year it was the same thing with Dice K

Yes, he will be in the game right off the bat. I asked Kolbe why The Show has Japanese players in the game before they ever appear in a game and 2K has generic representations of them, and he said because they negotiate with the players' agents individually to get them in the game.

That's cool then. Didn't know they could do that.
