    The positive thread

Wow is all I can say, I can't believe how negative the reaction to the videos has been. I for one think they look great and that graphics are frankly amazing. Before anyone even starts, the show looks incredible, I have a 360 and I will be buying 2k8.
The things I see most people complaining about are "nice to have" things to me, fan interaction, crossing the plate on HR's etc are not deal breakers for me at all. I have played BB games since Intellivision and MVP 2005 for the PC is the best game that has ever been made IMHO and we have that man working on this game. In fact, if MVP didn't have the "lifted swing" and the pitching was harder I would never need another game.
Knowing that HR's and the "power swing(which I hated)" are gone and that the pitching is more difficult has me full of hope.
I don't see anyone posting about the innovations like the pitching engine which looks great. The fielding/throwing also looks like an upgrade.
I am sure there are many in the same boat it's natural to pick at screen shots etc, but count me as first in line to buy it when it is out and still very much looking forward to it.

    Re: The positive thread

I personally am excited. I think people were expecting to see a whole different video game. Instead, they saw what they were supposed to see - an improved MLB 2K7 for the year 2K8. No one, and I mean no one, can make judgments on those four crappy videos (crappy in the sense that IGN can't take game screenshots for shi*, or take clips for shi*) Honestly, just wait for the 2K marketing videos to come out. Remember the teaser last year? I know i flipped out. Obviously, the game will be a little better represented with IGN then the 2K commercial videos, but still

All I am saying is that people should wait until they pick up the game and play it. Screenshots, clips, it doesn't matter. In the end, EVERYONE on this board who wanted to get 2K8 before these vids will still get it. I am almost positive they won't be disappointed with that choice.

I am stoked for it ... I thought it looked GREAT, and knew they were just IGN monkeys tooling around like a bunch of children, and skipping all the important presentational things.

I also know this isnt the final "review build" and know it can only get better.

It's still the most gorgeous game on the market- I don't see the huge dropoff in looks (well A-Rod's face looked hideous in that picture). The player models look great.

The sig styles are perfect- Beckett and Webb were spot on with their pitching styles.

Fielding in this game looks like its going to be MVP 2005ish, which is the most immersive fielding scheme in games right now. Fielding in this game went from a nightmare (2K7) to a huge plus this year.

The pitching interface looks like it will actually get people to throw balls, as long as all mistakes aren't translated to meat-balls over the middle. Other than High Heat, it's been way too easy to throw strikes at will in any baseball game. This mode looks like it will get good pitch counts and ball-strike ratios.

The framerate looks a lot better- I know from last year that batting in Fenway was a stuttery mess last year. It looked much, much smoother.

Sliders had a discernible impact on the game last year and I'm sure they will help iron out some of the problems I have. Sure there are some problems, but I've found faults with virtually every single game I've played since High Heat. For me, I think I'm going to be pretty happy in March.

Balls, oh please make it so you just can't throw strikes anytime you want. This alone would make me want to buy it, think about it, nobody wants to walk anyone, but they obviously happen. If this could be put in 2k8 I will be thrilled.

I agree this game is sweet. Those pics of derek jeter sucked so whoever leaked those needs to be banned from media stuff, in the video though he looked on point. Very solid, I think this year is gonna be good. I love the neww baggy pants look, not as poofy and dumb looking, big poopi looks super and overall this game is goona be a huge celebration when I play it. Hopefully the framerate stutter I saw on the diving play video gets buffed out.
