Honestly, I don't understand why sig stances should only go to popular players or people with extremely unique stances (Counsell). Every player bats rather differently, and even the slightest differences tend to go unnoticed, but they really make all the difference. Plus, it's even worse with the teams that don't really have all of the star players. If anything, it should be distributed more evenly amongst all teams.

No, i hate to tell you this....but nobody really will care or notice if they get anyone from the Royals, Pirates, or Devil Rays down right. However, they better get almost everyone on the Yanks, Mets, Rsox, Cubs, Dodgers, Angels, Cards etc.
Lets face it I would rather see Cano with the accurate stance then whoever is batting #3 on the Royals.

Lets be honest can you describe or tell me even who the leadoff, #3 and cleanup hitter on the Royals, Pirates or Rays or what their stance look like. I could only describe Carl Crawfords stance. THATS IT. and that is because he is the only really good hitter on any of those teams. (I am being over the top to prove a point, I know Bay and Upton are good). There are minor leaguers who I would rather see done more accurately than the Royals (the team has only 2 noteworthy guys, Butler and Gordon)

Re: Signature Style in MLB 2K8?

I'm a bit different than that. I'm more like "If you can get it in, by all means, get it in." But, in my opinion, there should not be priorities. I clearly understand what you are saying, but in this case, Mark Reynolds has a signature stance. That said, there is no question that there are plenty more stances this year, and there are many players on the Royals that, in theory, "deserve" a signature stance more than Reynolds.

I just hope that guys like Klesko, Byrnes, and Francoeur have signature stances. But I'm really hoping it's as blown out as possible.

If not, and if we go the way of how you claim is most appropriate, they should blow out the number of generic stances. That way, we don't get any repetition (the main thing I was complaining about). That means that there isn't just one high open stance. I mean, if we're speaking about specifics, Shawn Green and Adam Laroche both would fit in that category with their stances, but they both are very different. So I hope there is like an A, B, C, D, etc. of the same foot positioning and height in their stances. Hell, Power Pros does this, so they certainly can.

Let's just hope for the best, eh?

That is the thinking process that I absolutely hate. Get your head out of your *** and realize there are more teams in the MLB than just the 10 big city teams. There are plenty of Royals fans and every year, we get a game where the entire team has generic stances and and pitching windups.

Guys like Meche, Greinke, Soria, Gordon, Butler, Guillen, Teahen, Grudzielanek, Buck, DeJesus, Bannister should all have their signature stances and if they don't and Mark Reynolds does, that is a disgrace. Just because your MLB revolves around 10 teams, doesn't mean there aren't other teams in the league and just because you are a fan of the Yankees (who isn't now days) doesn't mean you can't learn about other teams.

Don't be such an ignorant fool.

Post of the day. I'm a Sox fan but that doesn't mean I only care to see there signature styles. If I'm playing against the Rays, I want to feel like I'm battling against Crawford, Upton, Baldelli, Pena, and others. When I face Kazmir, Shields, or Garza I want it to feel like them out there, and not some generic scrub with their name and number. Having signature styles for as many players the better. The pitcher/batter matchup is what baseball's all about.

Someone should send this to the guys at ESPN and reword it just slightly so that it pertains to their baseball coverage.

Overall, that's the post of the week for me!
