Re: So is there anyway to distinguish pitches?

On the older game like High Heat Baseball game, they dealt with this problem by pure exaggeration of the pitches.

They would make the curveballs go up and down in a high arc, slider that moves sideways, and fastball and changeup same straight way except speed difference. With the huge exaggeration, you could tell the pitch just as the ball comes out of the pitcher's hand. More challenging was trying to decide whether or not it'd be a strike or ball. With time and lots of patience, a good player will hit better, and impatient ones struck out half the times. It still had the best Pitcher vs. Hitter duel in any baseball game back in the day.

On 2k7, i had pitch speed at 35-40%, so the pitches would break somewhat realistically. While a color indicater may not be terribly realistic, its preferable to swining through curveball after curveball.

^ but when the pitch speed is low...then it takes forever to gets to get to the plate
