    Practice Mode

This game has been lacking practice mode. I mean they always putting something new every year i would like to have a practice mode so i can get the feel if i like it or not instead of doing it in exhibition games. I mean Nba 2k, college hoops have practice mode why havent mlb2k have a practice mode yet.

Something off topics. I wonder if the stats are going to be more realistic for picthers this year. I simulate seaons and sometimes well too often garbage pitches win cy youngs alot well not garbage but avg picthers. And alot of superstars picthers get overtaken by avg or garbage pitchers in all-star games. I have a 71 ovr start in allstar game or won a cy-young. So i hope i just see more realistics stats for picthers in this year game.

    Re: Practice Mode

Well there's a tutorial mode to teach you how to throw pitches. From what I gather it lets you actually practice throwing pitches rather than simply show you how it's done. That's probably akin to the free throw mode in the NBA 2K series.

Just play an exhibition game and shut off the announcers. Instant practice mode more or less. Don't know if 2K allows you to skip half-innings like that other game, but even better if it does.

Maybe the tutorial would do this, but how nice would a generic batting practice mode be? It could be used prior to a game or just as it's own game.

The could even do the set up to look like MLB Batting Practice with a pitcher behind an L Screen and some fielders shagging balls. Then you could just sit there and hit and hit and hit.

It would also be a cool addition if you could somewhat customize it.

-Hit a certain pitch in a certain location (maybe you want to work on hitting breaking balls away)
-Hit any pitch in a certain location (maybe you want to work on hitting pitches away in general)
-Hit a certain pitch in any location (maybe you are Pedro Serrano with the curveball)

And on top of that maybe there could be little mini games where you have to achieve goals:
-Hit the ball to the right side
-Hit the ball in the air
          -Hit only strikes
-Put the next pitch in play
-Bunt the next ball within 5' of the base line

It seems something like this could really improve your game quickly and it would be fun as well. A well done, realistic atmosphere would only add to the experience.

***Also, it would be neat (if they ever do this), where you could just hit L or R on the D-pad to cycle through you hitters (if you wanted to change) and maybe Up and Down to cycle through the modes (regular BP or specific workouts/games). This way you really never leave game to go to menu's and everything could be done on the fly. You switch your hitter and your guy steps out and the new guys steps in...just like real life.

They could also do something similar from the pitchers perspective where you can work on throwing a pitch or throwing to a location or working on combo's, holding runners, etc.

The one thing I liked about Madden was the addition of the mini games because it allowed you to work on the skills individually.

That would be cool, but sometimes it's nice to just be able to use one hitter and get repititions of swings. Especially in this game with signiture stances and swings, the timing for players is different. I find that I always hit better with guys who use certain stances compared to others...so it would be nice to just be able to sit back and hit with one player to work on his swing and not have to wait 2 or 3 innings to get to his next AB.

I guess it would be similar to NBA 2K8 practice where you can go to the gym and shoot as much as you want with a given player.

i always thought it would be cool if 2k would add something like madden does, and say once a week you can have a practice and say do hitting, pitching and maybe a flyball drill, and you can choose a player for each and depending on how you do you can increase their attributes. I just hate how it seems like there is never any player attribute progression in baseball games. Im hoping this year you are able to progress players since they added the whole new minor league system. Just thought that would be a nice addition.

Create a practice roster save. Have that player as the leadoff hitter in your lineup. Start the game as the visiting team. Bat until he gets a hit/goes out. Pause and restart the game. Bat, etc.

I completely agree, and at least one BB game I remember had this feature. Again though, create a practice roster save. Edit and assign the CPU's pitcher just one pitch - curveball, for example - so you can practice hitting curves. At least I think this is possible with 2K's game. Pitchers might have to have a fastball as well.
