    player card goodies...

For what it's worth I just read on a "2K post" that the greatest teams of old will actually have the actual players ( ala Cal Ripken and other old timers ) and old time Stadiums as well, all these things will be made available with the "Player Card" system...

If so I'm anticipating these goodies to be offered in Franchise and Season modes otherwise why offer these goodies in the first place...

Oh, I hope they offer a "goodies cheat" cause I really don't find jumping threw hoops that interesting...

    can't wait to hear more...

Doing certain things in the game is one way I think. And probably purchasing them via tokens as another.

Kush already confirmed that it is more than likely the player card thing, since there is nothing secret beyond that. Though they didn't get into details anywhere about player cards ... so I am sure there is some depth to it like scooter presented.

Any mention of which Old Time stadiums would be available?

As am I ... it is probably ones that they offered last year, and possibly more.

So you know there will be the old Tiger Stadium, Polo Grounds, Olympic Stadium, Ebbets Field, etc.

You know what would be great...if these games let US choose our home stadium. I remember one game did this(maybe High Heat...or I'm probably thinking ASB) during franchise games also(not just exhibition).

Tiger Stadium....one of my favorites......I'm fiendin' for a little ASB now...

You have to accomplish certain tasks like for example Brinkman said on one of his interviews to unlock a Jose Reyes card you gotta steal 3 times in one game with a player

This is similar to what Madden did a few years back, 2002 I think, the one with Marshall Faulk on the cover. It was how you unlocked all the Hall of Famers, the goofy teams like the Sugar Buzz and the Pharos, and the goofy stadiums like the cereal bowl the Sugar Buzz played in. It gave the game a lot of legs, cause it really made me want to get every single card.

We all knew about the player card system based on what Ben had revealed in interviews, but if it in fact has unlockable classic stadiums and players/teams, this would be amazing. I didn't use the feature that often in MVP 05, but me and a friend would sometimes play as classic teams and play in stadiums like the Polo Grounds and we'd sometimes even turn on that old school effect that they had too. It was a nice change from the everyday modern baseball age that we live in and definitely adds a lot to the game.

We did the same thing (a friend and I). He is a Yankees fan, so we played classic Yankees/Red Sox games!

Hopefully the Coliseum is in there too. It's the 50th anniversary and the Dodgers are playing a exhb. game v. Boston this year! Sold out in no time 90,000 seats!
