    Didn't play 2k7 until tonight.....

and I just downloaded on the PS3 2k7's 3 inning Cards/Mets 1-1 game........Overall, I feel the game has soooooooo much potential. I hope the 2k8 version addresses some of the problems I read about (HR's, HR robbing, not natural hitting engine)....I do love The Show 07, but I would enjoy having 2 great titles this year

Here's the thing... the demo doesn't do the game justice (neither does the PS3 version). This is one reason I sorta don't want a demo to come out; if it doesn't do the retail version any justice, then they're probably hurting themselves.

wait until you play a game where the CPU wins 16-4, hits 9 home runs (2 by Jerry freaking Owens), and robs you of 2. Then you will know what this game is about.

If you ask me the game doesn't play that bad. I almost threw a no-hitter with Jake Peavy last night. He was tired in the 9th and it was getting tough to hit anywhere near my spots and he give up a base hit. I brought in Hoffman and bam the fastball-changeup combo shuts the door on the Brewers. Sheets also pitched one heck of a game striking me out 15 times. Final score Padres 2, Brewers 0.

funny story about this. I also downloaded the 2k7 demo last night for PS3. Mind you I have played it on 360. But the funny thing was I had 2 home runs robbed from me. And the only hit I had was a homerun to win the game.

Game is totally different, and plays a good game of baseball with these sliders. And no HR robbing, and VERY realistic HRs from you as a player.

Much better on the 360 than the PS3 as well.

Post patch with toned down HR's, wall catches and fielding camera. IMO it created a much better playing experience. I would my overall experience with this game above average b/c I had friends who I always played online who played the right way

I can honestly say I have NEVER had this experience...in fact, I have never robbed the CPU of a HR and have only seen the CPU rob me of a few. As for HR's, I currently next to last in the majors in HR's and in the middle of the pack as for HR's allowed.

Yep his sliders were great. He went to the Show though, so it looks like we might be on our own this year.

This game on the ps3 does it no justice. 360 version was very pretty and play way better then on the ps3. 2k8 should be the same on both.

After seeing this thread, I d/led the demo for the 360 and played this game for the first time.

Damn, baseball games have progressed since when I last played (MLB 2K3). Payoff pitches? Mound visits? Crazyness.

These are the issues which have been fixed this year. This game has potential to be an 8.5 type game, but i have the feeling that a poor presentation (from 2k? whats going on with them?) may bump the game down a bit.

This is really the second full year on next-gen hardware. If they at least nail the gameplay, then we're set for the next few years. If not, things may get a bit painful...

An excessive amount of HR's in 2K7 has always been my biggest gripe with the game. The whole pushing up on the stick to influence a fly ball is just insane in my opinion. I've tried many different slider sets off of OS and a handful that I found elsewhere and nothing thus far has got the HR situation under control for me. There have been games that I played where there a small amount of dingers (human and CPU) but for the most part, it's been bombs away!!!

I've tried pitching very creatively following advice from the forums but the CPU can pretty much pick any pitch against me and send it into orbit. I've seen the CPU jack HR's on pitches way out of the zone, almost in the dirt....VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

When the patch came out, I was pretty stoked and was anxious to start playing the game again. Imagine my horror playing my first game (post patch) and having the CPU hit back to back to BACK homers at one point!! It's really getting old that the majority of scoring is generated by HR's as well!!!

Me and a friend decided to run a little test with 2K7 a few months ago. We played a game online and both of us would always push up on the thumbstick while batting on every pitch. We would pitch normal with varying pitch types, speed and location. Collectively there were 12-15 homeruns hit between both of us. That is just unacceptable!!!

Sheeesh, I really hope they fixed this in 2K8!!! Does anyone know if they took away the pushing up on the stick to hit a fly ball thing in 2K8?? At least that would be a step in the right direction.

FYI, I'm not a 2K ***** or anything and I fully plan on buying 2K8 when it comes out but I really hope they got some of the ugliness from 2K7 fixed.

It was noted several times by KushGamer, that HRs wont be an issue like last year. He gave his word. And yes, they removed the power swings and "up"!

Same here, except there are a few exceptions in my case. In the lower difficulties, HR's were more frequent, and the only players that robbed me of a home run were the highly-rated outfielders (Ichiro, Wells, and Crawford just to name a few). I knew that if I hit a homerun in shallow left, Crawford would always snag it. Not the case, however, if a player like Stairs was in the outfield. I guess the way people played 2K7 matters the most in this case.
