Re: XPlay Previewing game tonight
Here we go:
- Ben Brinkman is on the show.
- More than doubled all of their pitching and batting signature styles. They also have signature walk-ups to the plate. Almost every starter has a batting stance and almost every big name pitcher.
- Roster updates -- they have an agreement w/ MLBPA so they have to get it approved by them every time they want to release a roster update. The best case scenario is about a week turnaround time.
- Downloadable content w/ trading card system. You can get new cards after the game ships, so if players get traded, they will have a new card that you can unlock.
That's it. Not too much new info. Now it's time to go back and watch the video.Comment

Re: XPlay Previewing game tonight
Video looks pretty good so far:
- It looks like they're showing CPU vs. CPU, so this may be a good indicator.
- Pedroia starts with a liner that's over Cano's head and into right-center field for a single.
- Manny takes the first pitch for a strike. Takes a big swing at the second pitch and hits a ball off his foot that rolls a few feet away from the plate. On the third pitch, though, he pulls a pitch that was away for a single between SS and 3B.
- Lowell hits a bloop single in shallow right just inside the foul line for a single.
- Drew hits a pop fly to very shallow center just outside the infield grass that Jeter catches for an out.
- Matsui takes the first pitch high for a ball. He takes the next pitch for a called strike.
And that's all they show. Again, I probably missed a lot of little details, but that's what I see.Comment

Re: XPlay Previewing game tonight
Yeah, I noticed multiple instances of the same fan model very close to each other that seemed not quite as bad in some of the screenshots, so I'm not sure which build they were using. Definitely didn't look like the final though.Comment

Re: XPlay Previewing game tonight
Looked like everything else we've seen so far. It was irritating that they had the inset of brinkman talking on top of part of the game vid blocking the batter. Looked like cpu v. cpu to me. Lots of first pitch swinging. No long balls or even anything hit real hard, good variety of bloop hits. Players still act kind of herky jerky in their movements, not robotic but not smooth.Pitchers and Catchers Report; Life Worth Living AgainComment

Re: XPlay Previewing game tonight
Also thought Fenway- at least from the pitcher's perspective- looked nothing like the real thing... And this is from a guy who watches 90-110 or so Sox games a year.Peace
