Crowd doesnt go after homeruns anymore?

I havnt seen it in any of the videos....that would tick me off. Anyone have evidence on the contrary?

Honestly, if I were to make a list of things I care about in regards to this game, fans going after home runs would be approximatley #1,453,446,635,451,735,846,345,438,634,655 on the list.

In 2k7 i only saw that happen at random times(maybe that was just me). But it was a neat little feature.

I think they did last year but you could never see it because on a HR all you got was a nice closeup of the wall.

In 2k6 they went after every ball. In 2k7 they went after some. In 2k8, it appears they go after zero.

It is aggravating because fans add so much realism to the game

Seriously, why is that important? I'm worried about whether or not I'll walk batters, if CPU AI is any good, will stats be realisitic and you're worried about whether or not fans will go after home runs? I sometimes am just baffled at the things people are concerned about. I remember one time on this board a raging debate about socks. Socks.

I never noticed it on HRs that often because I play at Fenway a lot and most HRs are over the monster seats. I think in 2k7, you're more likely to see it on foul balls than HRs. It's kind of cool, but not that big of a deal. If the gameplay and overall presentation is good, I'm not going to complain about it. It's a little nuance, not essential to a good game.

What's next - "OMG, the fans don't fight over the ball and spill beer on each other!?! This game sucks!!"

YES, FANS WILL GO AFTER HOMERUN BALLS JUST LIKE THEY DID IN 2K7...IT JUST WAS NOT ADDED TO THE OLDER DEMOS'. I found that out awhile ago.

Fans reacting to balls in the stands went the way of framerate. There wasn't enough memory to go around to keep it in. Believe me, I fought hard for it. In the end, it had to go.
