Something INCOMPLETE from 2K7...Glove Sounds and Clouds of Dirt?

Folks, one little thing that I see when playing the MLB 2K7 demo on the 360 ( I never actually bought the full game) was the lack of glove sounds when fielding and more importantly snaring a line drive, or fielding a throw to first base. The lack of hearing the ball pop in the mitt made the fielding gameplay feel somewhat incomplete.

When I go to a ball game, the little things like these are the things I remember hearing when sitting down near the first base line, you can actually hear the ball cutting through the air as it's hurled to 1st base and the pop of the mitt as the ball hits the glove....I also vividly recall seeing a small cloud of dirt emit from the air around a fielders glove as they snare a roped line drive or a hard hit short hopped grounder.

Where these things ever added to the full game of MLB 2K7 and/or do you think they'll be added to 2K8 this year to really make you feel like your at the ball park?

Its these little things that get you all giddy while playing the game...at least for me, maybe not you folks?

Also, Im surprised no one asked this or made mention of this....

In 2 of the videos I just watched, I didnt see one single batter take warm up swings while at bat...can you take practice timing swings before the pitch?....it kind of seems a bit odd when the players just goto bat and stand their in their preswing stance so long without performing some routine timing swings before the pitch

    Did I miss something?

    What do you think folks?

Clouds of dirt were NOT in the MLB 2K7 game, but are in 2K8. At least they are in videos and I think Brinkman talked about them.

Also, you can hear the glove when the catcher catches the ball, but someone else would have to answer that, because I don't listen that closley to that part of it.

wow out of over 150 of you, only one person mentioned the pop of the fielders mitts?.....I thought the lack of that sound in the field was so obvious in the 2K7 demo...it almost felt incomplete because of it

Im wondering about practice timing swings to when your up at bat

pop of the mitt is in the 2k8 trailer but we don't know yet if these trailers sounds made it into the final product.

I thought Brinkman said something about those all being real sounds that are in 2K8...

It's pretty sad that the thing that kept you from buying the game was glove sounds and warm up swings... They are nice little things, but if that's the only fault with the game, then it's the best sport game ever.

Not on the pitcher mounds. I think they have that this year. At least it looked like they have it this year.

I didnt say that the lack of these 2 things kept me from buying the game....I just pointed out that these things that were absent from the game made it feel somewhat incomplete in the field.

I actually didnt buy the game for the 360 because I had it for the XBOX, which brings me to my next question....aside from the higher resolution visuals on the 360, where there differences in gameplay from 2K7 on the 360 versus the Xbox version?

Also, still no one has touched on the timing swings at bat...can you do them before the pitch this year?

When you guys talk of clouds of dirt, are you talking about just the sliding?....Im really referring to a little bit of dirt emitting from an infielders glove on a snared line drive or short hopped ball, or from a catcher's mitt after a hard fastball.

Well I have been playing alot of 2k7 over the last few weeks, and the only time you hear the ball hitting the mit is when the catcher catches a pitch and a pop-up on the infield. You will on occasion see a dirt cloud when a fastball is thrown, plus it happens in the feild of play.

Are there warm up swings in 2k8? Thanks.
