Re: TakeTwo buyout by EA loooming last MLB 2k8

    Will MVP come back then?
Brian Kelly will have ND back this year.

Arizona State will bounce back this year too.

The Cubs will end the streak next year

      Interesting.

Considering EA hasn't worked on a baseball title in a couple years now (there is no NCAA MVP this year), my guess is 2K sports will be "absorbed." That's bad news for APF, NHL, and NBA teams.

But the MLB should be "safe" (hopefully).

In a total unrelated note, I'm wondering when the Feds will (if ever) start to get involved in EA's continuing gobbling up of developers/publishers. It's starting to look like the vertical ownership of content/distribution that broke up the movie biz (anti-trust) decades ago.

So, EA will essentially hold exclusive rights on all major sports? Oh, isn't that a grand thought.

That's not cool. They are going to buy it and disband it. They'll asume ownership of all of TT's hot IP's and regain the baseball license for a song and disband the rest. That really sucks....

I don't know about that, the MVP team is now called blue castle who made the bigs and finished coding MLB 2k8 and they are close to Brian Brinkman. So they have been working on a baseball game.

anybody think there is any chance that:

                    1) EA will "absorb" the 2k baseball team? or at least Ben Brinkman since he used to work for EA..

                    2) EA will let the APF team continue there game with legends? think about it.. EA could then put out a current day NFL game AND a NFL Legends game.... i think it would work

Re: TakeTwo buyout by EA loooming last MLB 2k8

Article says T2 turned down the offer, and that prompted EA to go public with it.

That's all that happened, for now.

If such a thing occurs, the MLB series is most likely not safe and would be brought back "in-house" in time for the 2010 season. This is a guess on my part, BTW, I'm not privy to any inside info.

Funny you should mention that, I've long thought the video game biz was similar to how movies were made in "early" Hollywood.
