So, with that being said, which of the two games has the better franchise mode, in your opinion, and why? Oh, and I'm NOT talking about RTTS, just strictly Franchise/GM modes.

Frannchise Mode: 2k vs. The Show
I am a big into playing several years in franchise mode in any sports game that I get. That's just what I enjoy. I should state that I've never played any version of 2k or The Show. My past foray into the baseball video game market was MVP 2003, then 2005, then 2006 (all on the PS2). I recently purchased a PS3, and will be new to whichever game I buy (right now I'm leaning towards the Show).

Re: Frannchise Mode: 2k vs. The Show
Well if you like to manage prices on EVERYTHING go with the Show. There are countless things you have to manage in the Franchise mode. Agreed. If franchise is the main deciding factor - go with The Show. The beauty of the show is you can do as little or as much as you want with regards to managing the team. You can have the CPU do as little or as much as you want with regards to managing your franchise.Comment

Re: Frannchise Mode: 2k vs. The Show
The bad things I've read about the Show that 2K does better:
**The Show allows you to play just one game on any given day. AA, AAA or MLB. Not all three. I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that 2K8 will allow you to play all four.
**2K gives the minor leaguers names and attributes that go with a real player The Show randomly generates them.
These are just a few things that make a Franchise mode deeper. Not sure if they affect what you're looking for or not...Comment

One negative on The Show, that I've read, is the lack of a full minor league system. Does 2K have full minor leagues?Comment

Re: Frannchise Mode: 2k vs. The Show
Yeah, the Show has just AA and AAA with random players. 2K offers A, AA, AAA with a lot of players that represent someone.
That's my biggest thing about 2K I like better...Comment

In the podcast interview with Ben Brinkman, he said that you can play all 4 games in a day.Comment

Re: Frannchise Mode: 2k vs. The Show
Okay, thought so...
That's somthing else that I like. I don't get why you'd put all of the minors in and then allow just one game per day.
I don't think I'll play all four everyday, but it'll be fun to have that choice.Comment

Re: Frannchise Mode: 2k vs. The Show
I know this wont happen. I know for a fact that the roster makers will change what and who they can to have 100% accurate minor league line-ups. I wouldnt even worry unless you cant get them.NFL - Denver Broncos
NCAAF - Boise State Broncos
Champions Indoor Football - Sioux City Bandits 9-2
MLB - Toronto Blue Jays 56-45
NHL - Colorado Avalanche 2022 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS
United States Hockey League - Sioux City Musketeers
2022 Clark Cup ChampionsComment

Re: Frannchise Mode: 2k vs. The Show
I am getting both games and was actually leaning towards doing my franchise on 2k8. First off I really dont care about adjusting prices of stuff, Id choose being able to play all my minors over that anyday. Also the GM mode in 2k is pretty sweet because you'll have various tasks like release a overpaid veteran or sign a hitter who batted over .300 last year. Plus add in the trading card feature and unless The show has something really cool I havent heard about im going with 2k. Ill run a RTTS on the show and give franchise at least a look since Ive never played the show before.Comment

I think The Shows franchise mode is PHENOMINAL. I love being able to prive everything and have complete control over really cool things.Comment
