Demo theory...
My theory.........................I feel that 2k has marketed this game as little as possible because lets face it.....the 2ksports franchise hasnt been real profitable for them, and as a corporation they would want to cut as many costs at possible. They believe that the game will market itself with all the hype and forum members, that is, ourselves. I also believe that Microsoft charges a fee to have a demo come out way before the game is released, and if the fee is not paid, they just release the demo the day before the game is launched just like last year. As I stated before 2k sports is trying to cut down on costs, therefore they do not want to pay this fee. Therefore having read from many credible sources that Microsoft has the demo in their hands, this is the only logical thing i can think of as in why the demo has not been released.

Re: Demo theory...
All demo's submitted go through a processing stage where they are tested, ect. This happens for every demo. From reading what game developers have said in the past, it usually takes about 2 weeks to get approved and then it gets uploaded. Microsoft isn't just holding on to the 2K8 demo to make people upset, this is the way it works. If 2K wanted their demo released by now they should have submitted it earlier. -
Re: Demo theory...
I'll give you credit- this is far better than those inane posts that suggest 2K hasn't released a demo because they're afraid that the game isn't good LOL. I miss those posts.
Brinkman has already said its been submitted- patience is at a premium...

I think the bottom line is 2K literally works on the game until the last second. Are they putting more in the games, have less manpower, are less efficient, i don't know the exact reason. I do think this working until the last second is why 2K games tend to have more odd bugs (like the ERA one), why the demos are always late (time crunch as it is) and also why i think the games are so wonderful (to generalize the 2K sports games).Gamertag and PSN Name: RomanCaesarComment

Re: Demo theory...
well if you compare 2k7 and 2k8 in marketing such as screens and vids they are almost deadlocked, and articles the postortem liek right after 2k7 pretty much gave you it all then the itty bitty reports this year as well no vids on the marketplace and no commercials thats about itCatch Madden 15/ NBA 2k15 Footage on my Twitch Channel

Re: Demo theory...
Guys,
We are such a crazy small yet vocal super-minority here that we miss the big picture. Go to a local Gamestop or check mailers etc. 2k8 is everywhere is obviously my point. They really don't have to cater to us to be successful. I sure wish they would, but the reality is that all of those in store impluse purchases will far and away blow away our small fanatic minority. I got the Gamestop email this week about the bobblehead, so relax, it's out there.

Re: Demo theory...
We don't need a new thread everytime someone has a new theory.
Use this discussion for demo talks for now:

We also had another theory demo thread not too long ago.
