EA apparently wants T2 and their developers to maintain their identities so I think 2K will survive but it'll be a much more polished and professionally organized development and promotional organization.

EA will let 2K keep their brand BUT EA has their sports division already. So I believe there will be a merger. EA will blend 2K's strongest aspects with theirs and create a more well rounded game. This is the idea at least...lets see if EA will be smart enuff to do this....

I think 2k baseball at least will survive, but as whatever EA decides to call it.

A good example would be (for those who remember) the PGA 2000 golf game. It was miles ahead of Tiger Woods, so EA bought the company and merged the best aspects of the game into TW golf. It turned out to be a winner for everyone.

So hopefully if this happens, EA will be smart enough to take all the best stuff that 2K sports games has been kicking their @ss with for years, and roll it into their games. In reality, this could be a good thing, for one, there will be a CHoops next year, it'll just be called March Madness and published by EA.

I agree....they can call it lets say MVP 2009 and just add the good aspects of MLB 2K8 and the ideas they already had for NCAA MVP/MLB MVP. I think that would be the best baseball game on the planet...ever....in life....period....

I think very few people think it is a good thing. We need choices and EA is becoming the only one. 2k did an excellent job in football and hoops and they are getting there in baseball. The only ea sports game that beats 2k is hockey imo. MVP was good, but it was the PC modders that made it a classic. I mean, you want to talk about lack of presentation and stale commentary, look at MVP. People seem to forget about these things when they proclaim MVP to be the holy grail of baseball games.

I'm going to assume that you're also not a fan of The Show. If EA gets a hold of the license again, they're going to try to make it a full exclusive and not just third-party exclusive as soon as they possibly can.

I would love it if MVP came back and it's seriously jading me for why I wouldn't mind if Take2 were bought by EA. I don't want GTA to be fouled up, but I got so much play out of MVP 2005... still probably my favorite sports game ever.
