Question about Release

Okay so I'm getting older so my eyes aren't as good as they once were. That said, I've always thought the release date was 3-4. I see on IGN though that they're listing 3-3 as the street date, as did another place (can't remember where) I saw recently.

Does that mean the game releases Monday? That seems strange as almost every big title I've gotten in a long time goes on sale on Tuesdays. Anyone have some inside info on this?

I am fairly sure that 3-3 is the ship date. It may be in some stores on 3-3, but most stores will have it on shelves 3-4.

Either way it's only a day. Games pretty much never release on Mondays. Just like most media, they release on Tuesdays

The actual release is March 4th, the game is being shipped March 3rd.

The game comes out on Tuesday.

Games are almost always released on Tuesdays from retailers. They list a March 3rd ship date and a March 4th release date, although the ship dates are usually pretty meaningless because they ship from the production factories when they're ready to ship... which is usually a solid week before release. But, March 4th should be the day, simply because of the Tuesday releases.

for those that have 24 hour walmarts, they can get the game at midnight provided that the shelves are stocked with the game, though.

the kicker, it has to be on the shelf.....i have 3 or 4 24hr walmarts near me, as slow as those folks move, i'll wait until tuesday to get it.

Man I remember camping Walmart late on the night before release for games before. Good times, good times. Meijer was another good spot. Many a time back in the day I would go get the game, go home, and play it all night.

That's past my bedtime now though.

In the weekly ad from the newspaper, Target has 2k8 and the Show listed as Tues. March 4th @ 4pm
Not sure about a store like EB games where gaming is the thing. Not sure if they get a day early. I doubt it though.

I am forcing myself to take it easy this weekend so I will be well rested to play the game past my bedtime on tuesday.

How come it shows the ship date for The Show as 3/4, but it will also be in stores on 3/4? To me this means that 2K8 has a decent chance of being in stores on 3/3. EB games and other sites should just put the date the game is going to be in stores and not mess around with ship dates.

Generally, a mistake or just something irrelevent. I don't know why one site would change ship/release dates, but generally, games are released in the stores on Tuesdays. There are only a few games that have been released on non-Tuesdays, usually for promotional reasons ("Mortal Monday" for one). Some stores may break the Tuesday release, but they're supposed to release on Tuesday.

Ugh, Tuesday will be a rough day for me. Wake up at 530 AM to go to school. Then go to work directly from school till about 7 PM. I'm just praying my 360 will be working. It got the Red Rings of Death a week ago. I unplugged everything and it was fine. A day later, it just kept freezing, so I didn't try playing anything until last night. I unplugged everything again and I was able to play Madden for about 3 hours after I got home last night.

I would love to find a place releasing the game tomorrow, but I highly doubt it.

some stores may not have the game until ups delivers it....thats the only thing i could come up with. i think it should go on shelves as soon as you receive it....if you get it on 3/1, sell it on 3/1
