They will more than likely be as if they are totally bored and seem like they're mad they have to review them. Then give a random score for both. If history is any indication.

yea your right but in the preview for it they showed clips from both games and well 2k8 looked amazing and the show looked like the same ps2 game with better graphics

if you play mlb 08 in person, this is so far from the truth it is really able. mlb 08 destroys mlb 2k8 graphically, and it's not even close. not to say mlb 2k8 has bad graphics, they're pretty good. imo, mlb 2k8 graphics and presentation are very video gamish. but then again, i'm into tv style presentation and borderline photorealistic graphics.

some might say that but i mean 2k8 is innovative and mlb 08 the show is well boring...i mean i loved playing the game in 06 and 07 but i realized that it nvr changes and nothing tells me it will this year either

Id like to see this but X-Play though I do like the show they don't really care much about baseball games. My guess they give 2K8 a better score then The Show beacuse there not hardcore baseball fans and won't really notice the little things in The Show. Where on the other hand they will like the new pitching and hitting in 2K8.

The reviews will likely be... What the Sony and 2K PR departments tell them to be. The show is an ad in disguise.

I really don't think X-Play has forced reviews beacuse they have gave some very mean reviews in the past that made me laugh they were so insulting.

I would have to agree with the poster who says that x-play generally looks really bored while reviewing baseball games. I would have to say that they are that way for all sports games. Look at the type of people who play the game:
Adam: Likes shooters and action games.
Morgan: Likes fantasy and anime games.

Anything else is for them is moronic. If anything, I will watch it for more coverage of the game.

That show is pretty brutal from a review quality standpoint, but I watch anyway (or podcast reviews) because they have video of gameplay.

What really irritates me about their review system is that they still use that 5-star deal, but it doesn't translate well to MetaCritic. For example, giving someone a 5-star review doesn't mean you gave them a "100" but that's what it comes out to in MetaCritic. Likewise, 4 stars is considered a good review from them, but for many games, receiving an "80" is considered an absolute slam.

They just gave it a 4/5 and really seemed to like it. Lots of nasty references to players and 'roids but generally an okay review.

Wow, shocking, they gave The Show a 3/5 saying that if you've played the game any of the past 3 or so years that you've played this game. A few tweaks to hitting but mostly the same thing as the past.
