Pitcher Subs in Manager Mode Still Goofed

One of my big gripes last season was substituting pitchers in manager mode. I use manager mode a lot in baseball games, probably 70% of my Franchise games are managed, not played... I just don't have time for 162 games, but I love to get into the roster moves and front office. I like 2K's simplified "MVP-esque" manager mode, but unfortunately, you still are not able to sub or make pitching changes while batting.

Meaning, say if it's a 4 - 0 game in the 7th, you might bring in a long reliever to keep your other arms fresh, but if your offense ties up the game in that inning, you'll obviously want to start warming up your quality pitchers... but unfortunately you just can't do that. So you have to wait to be pitching again, and THEN warm up your pitcher and by the time he warms up... the crummy guy could have blown the tie, or a bunch of other inconveniences.

Also, if you warm a guy up, say, with 1 out in an inning while pitching, and you're thinking about subbing him if the pitcher gives up a hit or something, if the pitcher gets out of the inning, the warming up pitcher still warms up throughout your team batting, so if it's a long inning, the guy just gets gassed by the time you can sub him in.

I think the stamina is more forgiving this year (I noticed I think), which is an improvement. They also cleaned up the menus in manager mode and removed the silly, and very annoying "rotating scoreboard," whcih was distracting and annoying. That was good.

Unfortunately -- unless I have glanced over osmething -- managing your pitching rotation is still goofed up. There is the option to turn off warming up for games, not just managing games (I THINK), and so I may just do that before I manage a game... hopefulyl it applies to managing the games. Otherwise, the mode is broken for the second year in a row.

Honestly though, I am enjoying the gameplay despite the framerate flaws and a few other aspects.

That's too bad. I got the feeling from last year that they really didn't put too much thought into the manager mode. I wasn't expecting OOTP or anything, but it was pretty weak. This is more bad news.

          That is very unfortunate.
