computer doesn't take or throw balls

has anybody noticed this. i even raised the take balls for the computer to max. the computer rarely and i mean rarely throws balls and takes them when they are hitting.

About 1% of pitches thrown to me are balls. And that's if I don't swing.

I am not seeing this. In one inning the CPU took more balls than I'd care to think about.

Under AI Pitching in the sliders, you have to adjust the AI using corners, AI throwing balls while ahead, and AI change speeds. Increase those, especially corners and speeds. You'll see some good at bats.

I'm guessing it also has to do with difficulty...people are coming on here with problems that would be easily fixed if they moved to a higher level.

Just tinker with the AI sliders and you'll be fine. I've walked all kinds of guys.

Same for me. In a game I played I walked a few batters when I messed up & intentionally pitched outside...

Or too high of a level. All sports games are like this now, it seems. Gotta play for a while to find that sweet spot that gives you what you want out of the game.

In fact, I think we see it a lot more on this board of people having problems with the game for being on too high of a level than on too low of a level.

I started on allstar. So far in two games I've only seen a few balls thrown to me. I've taken a ton of pitches that are outside of the strikezone grid but they are close and they still get called strikes. It certainly makes hitting easier when you know every pitch being thrown will be a strike.

I started noticing this problem right away, so I lowered the CPU throw strike slider to ZERO and the Corner slider to 25. Result?

62 pitches 6 balls.

I'm also really starting to get the hang of the new pitching mechanic and it's becoming very easy to pinpoint pitches. Yes, I'm using the breakpoint option for pitching as well.

I walked 4 times last game, and struck out 4 oppenents looking. I was using Pro settings, but they throw enough balls, and do take close pitches.

I wonder if they took the CPU throwing balls out of the game to make it easier to hit? I know alot of people have complained in the past that it was too difficult to determine a strike from a ball and still have time to operate the swing stick. Maybe 2K's solution to that was to almost never throw a ball.

Hmm.... maybe I need to change from allstar to pro. Its odd though, because allstars sliders show that the CPU should be throwing more balls, not less than Pro.
