Is anyone else here having a very difficult time getting hits on All-Star?

I've tried classic hitting and swing stick 2.0 and I will say, while classic hitting yields WAY more home runs, I'm getting MUCH more realistic and varied results with Swing Stick 2.0, however hits are still very scarce. I just played a game between the Yankees and Marlins and through 14 innings, I had 3 hits, one being a homer in the 14th to win it. I assume that the learning curve is playing a factor in this which is why I'm taking my time with it, but man, getting solid hits this year is difficult.

At least you won the game. I haven't won a game yet (8 games played). I just finished an 18 inning game. I was the Mets against the Bucs. I thought if I had a better team maybe I would have a better chance to score some runs. Nope. I lost 1-0 on a single that scored a man from second. I had 8 hits, Pit had 6. I'm using classic hitting and I suck. I'm enjoying the struggle. I just hope I get better.

I've only played two games, and I was absolutely horrible at hitting. I used the swing stick 2.0, and lost to Cincinnati 13-2. I got two runs on six hits. I definitely need to tweak sliders though, Aaron Harang threw nothing but strikes, my batters were always down 0-2 in the count with me taking all the way on the first pitch.

I'm having a tough time too. I'm playing on All-Star with the Red Sox and I think the most hits I got is 4 lol. I love the challenge though.

I think I might take metal's advice from another topic and slow down the pitch speed.

Yep, That's what I did. I also turned up change speed to compensate. There is nothing like looking for a fastball and getting fooled with the hook. Nasty stuff.

            cool good to hear...

Do you notice it affects how hard balls are hit (physics engine) because I would think that the physics engine would take how fast the batted ball is pitched to calculate how hard it is hit.

I think we have the sliders to mess around with some stuff and make this game play a good game of baseball.

I find that you really have to focus (or at least I have to LOL) on the mound. If I rush a little or lose focus I will give up a pitch. I like the challenge even though it's SO frusterating giving up back to back to back HR's!!!

Overall the hitting engine feels good to me so there's the foundation. If we have to work sliders to fix a flawed hitting engine then we are in trouble but in my opinion the foundation of hitting pitching and fielding feel very good. I just have to use sliders to get the results that I want.

I believe it is still the same. I have a hard time making solid contact anyway. But the pitch speed still registers the same as before. For example, I faced a reliever from the Bucs and he was throwing a 94 mph fastball. I believe when you adjust the slider it is only perceived pitch speed. So a guy still throws 94 mph, but it looks slower to the user.

I agree. I can't believe I played an 18 inning game with no homeruns by either team.
