Year "Three"...You In or Out?

Just wonderng, based on how most of you guys feel about the game thusfar, will you guys stick around to see what year three of 2K's "Three Year Plan" will look like, or is this the end of the line for you and 2K baseball?

After playing the demo, I’m skipping this year. 2k8 is clearly not a finished product, despite improvement in the hitting, pitching, and fielding mechanics. 2k7 feels like more of a finished game than 2k8. The big downgrade in graphics would be ok if it meant smoother gameplay (although if NHL 08 can look as good as it does and be as smooth as it is, I don’t know why a baseball game can’t look as good and maintain 60 FPS, too. There’s way more motion in hockey, so it should actually be easier in a baseball game), but that’s not the case. The demo is very choppy, with awful transition animations, awkward fielding animations, and felt very much like a beta of a game.

However, I always “wipe the slate clean” each year. I don’t hold a past year’s game against a company and rule out all future games. If they can actually produce a complete game next year that is improved in ALL areas, I’ll give it a whirl.

I've been OUT for three years - haven't bought a 2K game since 2005. And my decision-making process is dead easy: put out a good game, and chances are I'll by it, this year, next year, whatever. With 2K, I'm still waiting...

Personally, im on the fence...it seems that the days of companies releasing off season features list and interviews, without showing us the ACTUAL game just came off of the respirator for me. Its dead. I need to see something tangible, and honestly the trust factor is gone. But with that said, i am not going to rule it out. I still buy Madden every year in hopes of...so I can give 2K one more I guess...unless something drastic happens. Maybe Microsoft will bring back High Heat or something...

And yes i do own a PS3 and The Show, but that doesnt mean i want to rely on one company for my fix...the hey day had a plethora of games to choose from...boy i miss those days.

Wouldn't buying that other system be more realistic and pro-active than waiting around for something that probably ain't ever gonna' happen?

Oops, missed that. So I don't get the droopy face. You own a PS3? And you're not crazy-happy right now about baseball? That makes no sense to me.

I love football, I love video games...But I hate what maden has become...you hope that one day things get better. But this year may be the one that i say enough is enough. We'll see.

Definitely out. 3 straight years they over sold and under delivered. Series is dead to me now.

I would actually be surprised to a see a 2K9 next year.
