    wow what a game!!

I just played an awesome game!! Finally I pitched good. I am getting it down now. I am moving the analog stick much slower and this is helping.

I threw a complete game with Felix Hernandez against the O's. I gave up 3 hits and 1 run (Solo HR by Huff). I only got 3 hits myself against Bedard. I had 1 walk and 7 k's. Just such a realistic looking box score and stats overall for each individual player. I could of probably done better against Bedard if I was a little more patient at the plate. I lowered AI total strikes down to 0 and it definetley does help especially when the CPU pitcher gets tired. They do throw more balls and they are easy to read balls.

I struck out somebody (I forgot who it was) but it was late in the game and Felix went into a cool animation. He pointed at his catcher after the K as if to give him the credit for calling the shots. I thought this was very cool because it was the first time I had seen it and I have been playing the game a lot. Also the time that it happened was cool. Wasn't like it was the first K of the game. It had to be in the 8th inning if I remember correctly.

Yeah it was really intense. It could definetley happen too. I remember when Felix Hernandez almost no hit the Sox in Fenway.

      I played on All-Star level.

The animation was really cool because it completley surprised me and it was so fitting. I K'd 7 guys that game and it came at the perfect time on the pitch and everything. Very fitting. IMHO animations suck when they overdo them. This caught me completley off guard and that made it that much better.

The best part of 2K8 is it's fun and challenging at the same time. It keeps you involved. I finally won a game tonight and I was really excited that I won. It felt like I really had to try hard to win.

Dave, did you change the pitch speed?

Yeah I lowered the pitch speed about 10-15 clicks and it's definetley helping but still as you can see from the box score I only managed 3 hits and Bedard threw a CG. I am still getting used to the timing of the step but I LOVE the challenge in hitting. It's weird because I will string together a couple hits in a row and they could be doubles and I feel like I am going to get too many hits but I end up with realistic box scores (or maybe not enough hits which is fine by me).

Yeah you definetley have to try hard especially on the mound and even at the plate as well. I definetley find myself looking for a good pitch to hit and much more picky at the plate now because I know some pitches are just very hard to hit (just like in real life). Fastballs up I better make sure I read right because if I am a little late then that's just going to be popped up to the catcher or infield for an easy out. I love the challenge and I am only playing on All-Star (with tweaked sliders for pitch speed and CPU throw strikes all the time is all the way down to 0)

I finally had a reasonable probablity to win LOL. Every game it's been like 96% to my 4% if that. HAHAHA. Most of the time it's been 99% to my 1% though LOL.
