Has The AI Stolen A Base On You????

I"ve probably played about ten or more games and the AI has yet to attempt to steal a base a me. The same goes for extended lead-offs, you don't see too many of these at all either. But the most important is the no stealing thing. And I even jacked up the sliders to try and get them to go more and I still hhaven't gottn a res

You know what's going to happen. You'll get a hundred different answers. Just test it.

Put a speedster leading off for the CPU team, and start an exhibition game. INT walk him. Now pitch (balls, not strikes) to the next batter, trying different pitches. See if the guy takes off for second. Restart the game and repeat 15-20 times. Then come back and post your results.

I have played like 15 games and have to seen 1 stolen base. I also have put the steal sliders up all the way. I think this is a BIG problem.

Difficulty MIGHT be a factor. Some games are programmed to go into INSANE mode on the higher levels (EA comes to mind here, don't know why, hmm...). Maybe the CPU gets more aggressive on the higher difficulty levels?

On allstar the I can't beat the computer the offense is insanely good. My offense sucks too. I have to mess with sliders but yeah no steals from the computer. I am surprised more people aren't talking about this.

I have seen some steals. I have the run aggression and steal second slider maxed out.

So there is such a thing. How do player ratings work? Is there a run aggression rating, or steal rating or something? Maybe that needs to be bumped up for a number of players. With The Show, it's an annual ritual to have to lower baserunning ratings for half the players.

That would change the sim stats though. Steals seem pretty good right now sim wise.

Okay. But are you more interested in random computer-generated stats, or a game that plays realistically on the field?

Oh yeah, no problem. With me though, I don't give sim stats a second thought. If the game requires ratings edits to get it play properly, I do it, regardless of how it affects sim stats. At the end of a season, the only thing I look back on is how realistically the game played, not who lead the league in steals and with how many.

Play some games w/ the Run Aggression Slider maxed out, and the steal second slider maxed as well and see what kind of results you get. I'm about to start my franchise tonight (a few more roster edits to make), and I'm starting on some adjusted PRO sliders. I will max out the two mentioned above and see what kind of results I get after my first couple games.
