    HR Camera Question

I've played about 5 games thus far and am really enjoying this game. It is fun to play, and does a lot of things correctly IMO.

The one thing that keeps jumping out at me as a problem is the camera shot on some HRs.

Basically the camera view stays fixed at home plate & you can't even enjoy the excitement of a HR. You can barely even see the HR in fact, the ball just leaves the park & the announcer says "HR!"

Is there any way to disable this stupid "fixed" HR Cam? I want the camera to follow the ball, just like on a deep fly ball, so you can see the field, the stands, where it lands etc.

Who on earth decided this was a good camera angle to have for HRs? Brilliant

    Re: HR Camera Question

According to the producer of the game, NO you cannot turn the cam off. I also think its really lame, and should only be used when you hit a game winning shot or something. The forum member 'Kush Gamer' was actually the one that programmed the logic behind the camera. I believe he said if it clears the wall by more than 20 ft the cam is triggered, less than 20ft and the cam stays normal.

I honestly can't recall seeing this, and I know I've hit some bombs. So either I'm literally not seeing it, or it doesn't bother me at all.

        Damn. Well that just sucks.

The cam pretty much ruins the beauty of these great looking ball parks.

They should have just used the regular camera, made it just like MVP'05 was. The suspense of a HR is totally gone, when you see a flyball to the OF, and the camera doesn't budge, you know immediately it is a HR. The programming should have been 50' or 75' instead of 20'.

Maybe if I lower the power sliders more HR's will barely clear the wall, causing the terrible camera angle to appear less often.

        Thanks for the info thornie.

          Re: HR Camera Question

To me, the suspense of a HR is taken away by that red thing, same as last year. I know we need it on defense, but why is it there when we're hitting?

By the way, I just realized, are you playing with the Dynamic camera? If not, then that's probably why I haven't seen this, because I am.

            I like it.

It makes me feel like i crushed the ball. IRL if you crush a homerun you know it's gone as soon as you hit the ball.

I've alternated between Arial & Pole camera's....dynamic is TERRIBLE.

What "red thing" are you talking about? I need to drink less & pay attention more tonight when I play.

Oh, you're just crazy then. The other two are terrible!

It's that red arrow thing that points to where the ball is going at the wall. But it only shows up on balls that are over the wall, so you know right away one of two things: it's a HR, or a robbed HR. Maybe it's not there on the other camera angles, though.

Wow. The fact that 2k7 only had DYNAMIC out if the box was the sole reason I sold it on eBay after a week. Unplayable. I've never heard anyone say they like dynamic better than the pole cam.

Okay, I know what your talking about. Its there, I just didn't know what it was for. And I agree now, that is a putrid decision on 2K's part. Brilliant idea #37.

                    You have now.

And to be honest, I'm just as shocked that there are people who hate it that much. What exactly is wrong with it, if you care to explain?

It made fielding virtually impossible IMO. It made trying to field a chore. It completely eliminates all the wide, far angle views of the gorgeous stadiums. You have no depth perspective.

To use an analogy, it would be like looking at a naked Jessica Alba from 1 foot away, and only being able to see portions of nudeness at one time....whereas I'd rather drool over her from 5 feet away.

I don't know. I guess I just got used to it. Now I hate all the wide-angle stuff. Hate The Show's fielding cam, for example. Funny how that stuff happens to people.

It should be noted that the Dynamic camera this year is not the same one in 2k7. It is more of a TV angle cam, without the annoying view from 1st base in 2k7. It reminds me a lot of the Broadcast view in MVP 2005. I kinda like it, but it does make fielding a little harder.
