    Hits Through the Infield

I don't know if it's just me, but is anyone else getting very few ground ball hits through the infield? I tried fixing this by turning down infielder reaction time, but nothing really improved, so I'm going to try to turn down infielder speed.

If anyone knows any good sliders to improve this, I would appreciate your help.

    Thanks.

If the fielder is getting there too quick turn down fielder speed. If the ball is just being hit too weak turn up power.

Thanks...didn't think about turning up the power. Will that cause too many homers, though?

Yea do not touch the power settings. It's most likely lack of quality hits. I have hit some stingers down the lines, and also back up the middle. This is the MLB where defenders are good, and will stop almost everything.

I had the same issue. Lower the infielder reaction and speed sliders. You will have to lower them alot to see a difference.

yeah I think the real question is, are you getting an accurate number of hits per game? a lot of balls put in play in real life end up being outs, especially when going against somebody like Brandon Webb.

Too many hits up the middle, imo, and I can't count how many times that poor pitcher has been bonked! But I think the complaint is valid that anything hit anywhere else is quickly gobbled up.

Fielder reaction and fielder speed do help this, btw, and I'm starting to get pretty good results. What I would really like to see is average SS/3B not be able to run all the way to their right, turn, and fire lasers taking people out with ease. I haven't gotten the game to the point yet that there is such as a thing as a fielded ground ball that they can't throw out.

I would say I average about 8-10 hits per game. Now that I adjusted the sliders, though, I am seeing a better variety of hits. Thanks for everyone's advice regarding this issue.

Interesting because I get alot of hits through the infield. I get alot down the third base line. I think I get so many because I am often late on the swing. My last game I got nine hits, six singles, and I would say only two of them were hit into the outfield leaving four infield hits. One of those was up the middle, two were between the third baseman and the line and one was between the first baseman and the second baseman. I am getting a variety of hits.

i was also tired of IFers making diving stops on every hit so i basically cut IF reaction in 1/2 and took a few notches off IF speed and i absolutely notice the difference. I have hit 3-4 shots through the IF in the past couple of games.
