***Tomba321's PS3 Framerate Settings For PS3(Download link to save)***

this is a fix to MOST of the problems playing on the ps3. this is mainly a game-flow edit with all settings done for you.

What I've done is made this game's camera action better by removing/adding settings that either made play too"random" OR "specific"

In ADDITION those with Samsung HDTV's OR HDTV's in general here is a quick "color" fix for this game


HDTV Settings


720p

Contrast - 100
Brightness - 38
Sharpness - 100
Color - 29
Tint - 40
color Tone - Normal


These settings along with the files included(you also see the 2K beats file there please use) will definately make your gameplay experience of MLB 2k8 much more enjoyable and reliable for the time being as hopefully 2K is working ona PS3 "framerate solution" as well

I DO however suggest ONLY playing at 4pm and 8pm specifically as i've TESTED ALL weather and daytime options and these two times RUN the best. you will see better lighting as well and more accurate colors from the shadowing.

I also would HIGHLY recommend that you play with both teams cool base uni's. For some reason anything white or striped will add to the confusion on screen. what i mean is the more the screen has to render in like fans grass textures ANy uniform lines OR JUST the color white(as it's a brightness issue ans brightness can cause slowdown in some engine which in this one is most certainly does)will cause the game to lag even furher.

I AM NOT BSin about this either. check it out...

So... It's Cool base uni's and 4pm/8pm games ALONG with the settings files...

I don't know man...It plays better but no where NEAR as clean as smooth or as polished as the beautiful game which is THE SHOW

I mean people wanted so i tried...

This ain't a miracle fix but it makes it playable and after about 10 games you do get used to it but man i popped in the show after devoting a good two days to 2k8 and theres no comparison

Hey dude I really appreciate the try. It does play a tad better and I see where you were headed. Try turning off all the total control sliders and agression sliders. Do the tight batting camera and also default allstar sliders with a +5 on the pitching speed. I turned off the chatter volume but left the chants and crowd up there along with game sfx. Of course all presentation is off execpt cutscenes and the ball indicater. playing without a vip doesnt matter by the way thats just a crap @ss rumor. And just for kicks the only new feature I use is swing stick 2.0. Hopefully this helps.

So I pop in 2k8 and select Cubs at Giants...I pick the unis for both teams (which I usually do before games) and pick the Cool Base unis for both teams (b/c they look the best to me).

Then I select 4 p.m. for the time of day b/c I wanted to see if there was any progrssive lighting or day-to-night effects in the game.

As I'm playing, I'm thinking, "framerate is a little choppy, but not so bad that it makes the game unplayable. As a matter-of-fact, throws across the diamond are not as bad here as they wer on 2k7 with the fielding camera patch."

Then I come on OS and find your post here saying to use Cool Base Unis and play at 4 p.m.

What are the chances of that?

yeah man... though it was close to my set i found YOUR batting camera nearly fixing the framerates while batting by A LOT. sadly thoough going into the feilding camera if you pitching is the worst.

Dude, you might get better gameplay, but you are going to run your tv down faster than what it should. when you have an HD picture, you NEVER want the contrast or sharpness to 100. think about it.. HD picture is already pretty sharp, so why "enhance" it even more? you will burn out pixels or dlp lamps twice as fast with these settings. I would recommend buying an AV calibration disc if you want the best picture for your set.
