double plays broken up too easy

by both the cpu and player. every time i have a runner going to second he can slide feet first and break up the double play. anyone know if a slider adjustment will fix this?

I have experienced this. In one game, I broke up a CPU's double play 4 times. That's not very realistic. I wonder if the FIELDER COLLISION slider will help.

The CPU breaks my dbls all the time .. it's annoying. Isn't there a baserunning aggression slider for the CPU? I'm too lazy to look.

CLE VS. MIN, I'm up 3-2 and it's late in the game. CPU batting, 0 outs. Single to first. No big deal. Next batter hits to 2B .. toss to SS and get ready to turn 2, and the runner tackles my SS. Later in the same inning, same exact thing happens.

It's almost like the CPU is trying to tell me there's no way my scrub AAA pitcher is going to beat Santana, even though Victor Martinez hit 2 HR's off him in back to back innings.

and ya, i know this post is old. if I started a new post, someone would have flamed me for not searching.

I too was frustrated with this at first. However, I've found that if you complete your throw (release the R-stick) before the runner gets there, you should be OK. You may need to rush it a bit and sacrifice accuracy, but you should be able to get the throw off. I rarely have one broken up anymore (unless it truly should be)...

Sliding feet first? Ha, Jake Peavy broke one up the other night sliding head first! Never seen that happen before, in game or in real life. My own fault, I hit the slide stick the wrong way, but he definetly shouldn't have broken it up head first. Programming "glitch" I suppose.

I was having the same problem until I started rushing my throws. The chances for an error have increased but have seen the take outs drop

I finally saw a guy on my team break one up on his own .. late inning w/ game tied 1-1 (CLE vs NYY)

I rarely make guys slide ... they seem to do it on their own when it's needed.

Slowing down infielder speed and reaction speed really helps allot!

I have Both AI and Human infield speed at 30 and reaction speed I at 45.

yep you just need to rush your throws. Accuracy will not be good, but you wont get a lot of breakups.

get a good defensive shortstop, second baseman, and first baseman and your team will be a double play machine.

Not sure I follow your logic on this. Wouldn't slowing down infielder speed and reaction speed lead to more double plays being broken up? Or perhaps I'm missing something here (definately wouldn't be the first time)
