I believe you check swing just by pulling the stick straight down after you push it up. About the angles of motion with the stick, I tend to pull straight down, then if the ball is inside push to a NorthWest motion, strait up for inside pitches, and NorthEast for outside, [all of that was with a right-handed batter] because, if I'm not mistaken, it helps influence where you want to hit the ball and, of course, you want to go with an outside pitch and not pull it because it would be a weak grounder.

I am disappointed with the check swing once again...Brinkman made it sound so easy, but I have only done it a few times and it's because I was trying to. If you are committing to a swing, you really can't check it. One thing I've learned about the Swing Stick 2.0 is that it is almost like cursor/zone hitting with the right stick.

For example, if a pitch is on the outside corner or outside of the zone, and I just push straight up I won't make contact at all. However, if I push to the right approximating where the ball is, I can either foul it off or hit it to RF. I basically now just move the stick to try and match where the ball is going.

It's a very 'twitchy' motion to check swing...and most of the time, I'm told I broke the plane anyway...

The only time I really do it is by accident. It is too difficult to do check swings with a swing stick. Too much is involved in the split second the pitch is on the way to the plate.
