    Pitching Rotation Glitches

In my Mets francise, after three games the 'schedule' wanted to go back with Pedro (who stars the rotation, followed by Santana). After fixing it for the game in the pitcher selection, it's been fine so far.

However, as the Red Sox, after four games it wanted to go back to Beckett, I switched to Lester and now for the next game it wants to skip Beckett and go to Dice K. Looks like rotation change is in order. How annoying.

BTW, Beckett was back at 100% when it wanted to go with him, but Pedro was not.

Yeah It does it every game for me as the Nats after Peterson got back to 80%.

In my online leauge it really f'd up. I was on game 13 and my fourth starter was next to pitch. Looking at my roster I had the following:

      Starter 1: -45
      Stater 2: -17
      Starter 3: 15
      Starter 4: 3
      Starter 5: 2

I know this is online. (mods please don't delete as I need to find out this question as no one goes to the online forum).

I had this problem after my first game with the Indians... CC only went 5 innings because of fatigue... and then they wanted him to pitch the second game of the season too.

In real life teams don't usually use their fifth starter until the end of the first month because of all the off days during the first month of the season.

True, but in 2K8, the Mets play six straight before a day off.

With the Sox, I manually changed to Dice K for the game after I manually switched to Beckett, and the third game has Schilling in place. At least with pitchers not fully recovering for several days, it's easy to figure out who should go next.

No, this is a problem. Milwaukee has some weird off days to begin the season, and they end up wanting to start Sheets 3 times in like 10 days.

Such an event is incredibly unrealistic because he is widely expected to hit the DL after pitching 5.2 innings this year.

Just had something similar happen. I sent down a pitcher from MLB to AAA and called up a hitter. The game kept telling me I had an invalid lineup in AAA for LHP with DH so I double checked and every lineup spot was filled and valid for all lineups but it kept saying the lineup was invalid so I had to have to CPU fix it. I guess when the CPU fixed my lineup it reset the rotation for all my teams, single A-MLB to the number one starter. I then played my MLB game with the number two starter because it was his turn in the rotation and I used a spot starter for my minor league teams to try and get the rotations back on track but for the next game the rotation for all teams was still on the number one starter. WTF???

This is a longtime problem that has been with the franchise since 2K6 (at least). I have no clue why this bug is STILL lingering around at this point. If you look at the 2K boards or the OS boards from last year there were some workarounds.

I'm having this problem too and the computer is too. Even their pitchers are pitching two games in a row. In mine it wanted to start my number one 3 games in a row vs the opponents number 1 also three games in a row.

OK, I think I found a semi-solution to this problem. It's common sense, so I''m sure most of you have done this as well.

When the problem arises, start the pitcher scheduled to pitch. Do not use a spot starter. The next game, your rotation is back to normal... until the game messes it up again.

For example, the bug wanted me to start Cole Hamels even though I had just pitched him the previous game. So, I decide to throw Brett Myers, my No. 2 starter behind Hamels and the pitcher who should have been starting anyway. The next day my No. 3 starter was in place.

That's how I've worked around the problem. Just don't sim on the days that the bug crops us.

same here...played the twins in a series with the royals, and Santana pitched all three games...2k7 DIDN'T do this...WTF? I bought an xbox 360 for Xmas, and my ONLY apprehension of leaving my ps2 was not being able to play "the other game." now I feel like a for buying it. I'm seriously considering trading the 360 in, taking the loss, and getting a ps3...THANKS TO THIS GAME.

Would lowering the pitcher fatigue slider help?

                            Re: Pitching Rotation Glitches

My pitchers stamina % seems to play a big role in this issue as the game has reset my rotation a few different times when my number 1 starter recovered to 100% stamina after 2 or 3 days. So maybe the the fix would be figuring out how to increase the effect of fatigue on a day to day basis so our starters don't recover so quickly.

How does this help the computer though? I mean I have noticed this and used it for my own team but in a series, I pitched against the same pitcher 3 times.
