I have to be honest... I think the reason we aren't seeing very many massive blasts (at least, by tape measure) is because of the way they... well... measure the distance the ball traveled. For instance, all of my playing time in this game has been with the demo, so I'm always in Fenway Park. Most of my home runs (as well as the CPU's) are going over the Green Monster. Not once have I seen a home run hit over the green monster that has traveled more than 380 feet. In fact, most of the time, it's somewhere between 320 - 340 feet. No joke. These aren't down-the-line high fly balls that just clear the fence, either. Matt Holliday smoked a liner that cleared by a decent bit to straightaway left field and it only went like 350 feet.

Does this game track where the ball first hits, or where it would have landed had nothing obstructed its path?

Your right. I just blasted one off the Mets sign on their scoreboard with Beltran. It said 398 I think.

I hit one over center at Wrigley with Aramis Ramirez just last night. It sticks out in my mind because it ultimately won me his card. I don't remember any other blasts of mine over center, but I know the CPU has hit a few.

yeah, with my Cubs I've hit one off the scoreboard in dead center with Aram (that one was a thing of beauty....) And I've hit one with Fukedome to right field that went about 430 feet...needless to say, it was GOOOOOOOONE!

It wasn't the scoreboard at Wrigley, was it? Because that's absurd. I think it's only been hit once. With a golf ball.

yes...the scoreboard. Or it was right in front of it, because I didn't see it hit in the plants and stands right there....like I said, it was and absolute BOMB by Aram. And I've never gotten close again...lol. Hit a few more to center, but, just landed in the plants out there past the wall.

Is it just me, or does EVERY homer feel like a no-doubter? I.e., even if the ball clears the fence by an inch, the batter does his home-run swing animation.

I've hit one with Manny. That's the only one i've had in the dead center, but I've had a few that are a few feet to the right or left.

I hit a bomb in Arizona over everything in center with Lance Berkman. I also have hit one dead center in Cincinnati with Arod and it hit the batter's eye and came back in the field and they gave me a ground rule double.
