Pitching with runners on.
Sorry if this has been covered but I have been noticing (in reviews and forums) people complaining that the pitch meter doesnt register the first gesture and goes all the way to the edge of the circle making it near impossible to release correctly. Ive noticed that this is only the case with runners on. I have also noticed that it only does it if I release the first gesture before the "effective" rings. I assume this is mimicking the pressure situation of having men on, making you make an effective pitch, you can't let up just to make it easier to release. I like this although I think some reviewers and posters are thinking that this is a bug. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Sorry for the long post, hope I am clear.Tags: None -
Re: Pitching with runners on.
Yah, I've noticed the same thing, at first I thought my controlled was messed up since the gesture recap only showed the 2nd gesture, but after paying closer att'n I think you nailed it. It only happens in the stretch, and it is possible to get past it, you just have to throw the pitch harder, or w/ more effectiveness I guess, to not have the problem. What at first I thought was a mistake is really I think just some added depth. -
Re: Pitching with runners on.
You have to hold the meter on the first gesture until you get to the first ring along the outside. There is that outer area where you are supposed to get all your pitches when you're holding the first gesture, you have to get in there while you're in the stretch or you do that faulty pitch like you're talking about.PSN : TALLERthanyou24Comment

Re: Pitching with runners on.
I mentioned this as a part of the game in another thread. But, I do believe your description as to why it happens is more accurate. I don't think it's a glitch either.PSN: PhiNuPi

It does the same thing to me even if I have just brought in a pitcher with no runners on.Comment

Re: Pitching with runners on.
this IS a glitch, it doesnt matter how long i wait before making my 2nd gesture it does not recognize it and keeps acting as if im holding my first one. This also happens when i use ANY reliever, men on base or not. If i bring in a starter in relief, no problems. This is most certainly a glitch and one that needs to be fixed.Comment

Re: Pitching with runners on.
ive noticed it with every team ive played with (mets, indians, bosox, yankees) and ive experimented, but every time i bring in a RP it happens, and if i bring in a SP in relief it works normal.
If somebody wants to see if i have a bad copy or if im going crazy, pick the mets, start w/johan or anyone, then bring in heilman or sanchez in relief, try pitching, then bring in maine or perez or any other SP and see the difference.Comment

Last night was the first time I've seen it w/ the Brewers (only one pitch). I'm playing a game with every team trying to unlock cards. I've played with the Mets and everything was fine. I'll play with the other three teams next.PSN: PhiNuPi

Re: Pitching with runners on.
I use the Sox exclusively and I have NEVER seen this issue. There were a couple of times that I thought the pitching meter wasn't recognizing my movements correctly, until I figured out that I wasn't moving correctly. I'm not trying to say that you're in the wrong here. I am just saying that This has not happened to me once...Comment

I don't know if it's a bad copy. Too many people have seen this. I'm just trying to see if we can pinpoint what causes it.

Re: Pitching with runners on.
20 games with the Phils. I've had this happen 2 times. I can't figure the rhyme or reason. I'll some games with 4 pitchers no problems. It finally happened so I understood what people were saying but it went away. But to play all those games and only see it a couple time lead me to believe it's a specific situation. I could be way wrong. Someone did find a "fix", double press the first direction and it should work ok, like press back, release press back real quick
I wonder if it has anything to do without pitchers warmed up. I know I brought in a couple pitchers in the blue. Just making a stab in the dark here.Comment

Re: Pitching with runners on.
Ya, this issue basically is a game killer for me. I really can't play the game if I can't pitch and all they give up is homers...........Comment
